The future of the NHL, Austin Mathews. Where's the team logo?

Welcome to Europe!

Here the jerseys are just plaques for ads. Some players on the same team might have even different kind of ads from others.

KHL is a lot better in this regard although they do have some ads on their jerseys also.

4/12 games last night were shutouts. Scores: 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0.

Dallas is entertaining as hell to watch. Strader and Razor are a nice bonus.

Is Strader full-time PBP for Stars now or is it just temporary? I noticed that the Isles or Preds didn't have the same PBP's as before to start the season. Isles' guy seems to be back in business now though.

Strader is full time with the Stars now although he can do games for NBC when there isn't a conflict (same for Daryl Reaugh). Ralph Strangis retired after last season and Strader took over his job. Interestingly Daryl Reaugh applied to move over to do PBP and was turned down. While he's probably bummed, I think Razor's color analyst work is some of the best int he business - it would have sucked to lose him as an analyst.

Howie Rose (Islanders) also does the Mets, so when the Mets went deep this season, the Islanders had to get a different PBP guy. Howie is back for the Islanders now though doing TV.

I don't know why Pete Weber isn't doing Predators games on TV anymore, but he's doing their games on radio now. The former radio guy moved to TV. http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2015/...unic-switching-roles-for-predators-in-2015-16

We can't take Marleau unless we get rid of another contract, probably Gaborik's or the like. I would trade Marleau for Gabby though, at least Patty can play center if need be. He would make a decent 3C. I don't really see the Sharks trading within the division though...

Friedman reporting he lifted his NMC for 3 teams, the Kings, the Ducks and the Rangers.
kings and Rangers have about 1M in CAP space, Ducks have 7.5M

In theory the Kings could free up a little more space by putting King on LTIR. He's been out long enough. It just doesn't help unless you need the space for some reason.
But I just don't see it working with the Kings or Ducks to be honest.
He told the team trade me to NY or go to hell really. You don't make trades within your division easily. And I think what he was really saying is I'm not going anywhere easily.

That was the interesting bit from McKenzie's column this morning, that it was Marleau who was the catalyst unlike past years. McKenzie also mentioned that other execs think Nashville/Chicago would be places that Marleau would waive.

Nashville has space and some tradeable pieces, but I think they might want to save the cash with Forsberg/Jones headed to RFA.

Agreed I would do Gabby foir PM in an instant. Didn't he and Carter play together in the Olympics?
I thought that Marleau only had one more year on his deal but I guess it's two. So he would be coming off the books right when TT needs a raise

if Marleau can still play centre I htnk Nashville makes the most sense. Even with Marleau's hit next year they will have enough space to retain their key RFA's as Gaustad is coming off the books.

The Ducks are all over the Oilers and lead 1-0 off a fortunate bounce created by Corey Perry in front of the Oilers net.

If the Kings can't dispatch the Oilers on Saturday, then I'll start to become very worried about this team and its instestinal fortitude.

I feel like I watch a decent amount of Ducks games and it seems like Hampus Lindholm is a total disaster on the ice right now. Giveaways, penalties and just overall bad play. I remember watching him as a rookie and expecting him to do huge things in the league, he just looks terrible.

He's a kid. It happens.

Yakupov -68 last two seasons. Holy ****ing ****.

Cue Holden Caulifield / CobainAngst to set me straight on +/- stats.

He's Doughty-light. Some days he's lights out, and some days his light is out.

Bottom line, he is going to be indispensable to the Ducks' success. He is their top blue-liner.

Well, even when you break in at 19, when you're in your third season you kind of expect better play, especially from someone who obviously has a lot of talent. I'm sure the Ducks were expecting big things this year.

Hayward whines about the extra penalty, then says "oh it should've been" after looking at the replay.

I'll give him credit for reversing the homerism and being accurate. He actually does that quite frequently, so I definitely think higher of him then say, the Pittsburgh or Boston homers. Listening to those cretins, the Penguins and Bruins never ever committed a penalty.

Well that is more than he normally does.

Nothing was as funny/pathetic as him and Ahlers complaining about Campbell not getting 5 minute penalty for highsticking Perry as they are airing a replay that showed his stick never touched him.

No one in sports is as bad as Hawk Harrelson, but Hazy is right there near the top in the next group when it comes to blatant unapologetic homerism in the booth.

Yeah, I believed he used the words "Raked across his face" when describing it. Best sell job in years by Perry.
