Parise post game - "I vowed to never lose in this building again!"

And you wanna talk about disaster contracts, his is up there.

Definitely, but teams were lined up to pay him. Just because another fool is willing to pay more, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I've hated my bosses plenty of times, but I've never not shown up for work just because I did. Drouin has a lot of growing up to do and I don't think he's mature enough to be paid this well.

He's such a self entitled brat taking bad advice from all corners. His agent decided he shouldn't play, to avoid an injury that could hurt his chances at a future trade.

:amazed:

:shakehead

I don't think he'd be a cancer. I think a locker room set up like ours would overwhelm him and whip him into shape, if he were actually a distraction, which I don't think he would be.

All this is white noise, I just see talent on an ELC for a potentially mediocre asking price.

For a 3rd overall pick whose team didn't even need him to get to the Cup Final less than 2 years after drafting him that high, with 6 career goals, it seems like a lot of drama. Maybe they win the Cup if he plays more, who knows, but it just seems like a lot.

If he's got the will and the talent, he's probably going to be fine however this plays out. He's got a contract, but he doesn't really owe Tampa anything. I can see where he's coming from in a way, but it seems like a lot for a guy that hasn't been all that important in the NHL yet. Lindros had all that stuff back in the day before he ever played a game, but he was also the next big thing. Teams were willing to basically trade the entire franchise for him. Not sure Drouin has ever been looked at in the same light.

I guess you could say his NHL career is Drouined.

Can't spell Drouin without ruin.

The jokes write themselves with a last name like that.

This is a very slippery slope.....a player and agent going public, refusing to play because of fear of getting hurt. It's going to be interesting how the NHL and TB handles it.

K17- this is the perfect example that pisses off owners to open the non guaranteed contract fight in the next CBA. If the players don't honor their contracts, then owners should have the same flexibility. Bad times ahead in the 20-21 season

Another fine Al Murray pick. Seth Jones would've been the smarter choice considering how stacked they were in their top 6. Did they not see his character flaws during the pre draft interviews?

Didn't Tampa suspend him without pay? That's some flexibility.

It's not like the PA hasn't gotten a few things in the lockouts. Owners will always ultimately win the war, but what would they have to give to make a dent in the guaranteed contracts? Which battle would they lose? Earlier unrestricted free agency? A softer cap with a luxury tax of some sort?

Which is why we probably won't see a season in 20-21. They might conceded ufa age and the Rfa process since players peaks are smaller now. But this next CBA will be ugly ....Just my opinion though.

Dear Keith Jones,
please don't compare the 2015 Ducks to the 2012 LA Kings....EVER!
Just because they could get into the playoffs as an 8th seed doesn't mean they can go on some crazy ass run, not with that captain and coach.
