I brought that up in that thread initially. Used Kopitar's contract as a comparison as to why Steen will never fetch $9M (the notion is still hilarious). Had no idea the OP was that insane. I regret getting involved.

You got to be careful. The crazy is highly contagious.

So the only teams to eliminate the Kings/Hawks from the playoffs over the last 5 years are the Kings/Hawks....

Mike Richards won more faceoffs in one game for Washington than he did all last season :sarcasm:

Seriously love to hear them doing well though. Just glad it's on the other side of the country for now! Washington is an easy team to root for anyway, they have everything, guys we love, Ovy is exciting, Kuznetsov is pretty much Tarasenko, and Holtby is on a mission. I still don't see anyone in the east that can slow them down.

Did he play? Gutted I missed the game, a Williams hatty and MR making an appearance, it's like Kings east.

It's funny, many said the same thing about the Rangers over the last few years, sans Ovi. The playoffs will be the real test, and all it takes is a red hot Luongo or Price to end their dreams.

Unless Holtby falls off a cliff, and he hasn't been their issue really. He can go head to head with either of those guys. He's a career 1.96 GAA and .932 Save% in the playoffs.

Richards came *this close* to potting his first for the Caps yesterday. Hope his success continues.

Any concern over him leaving yesterday's game due to dehydration?

The capitals are a fun team to watch and cheer for...too bad their announcers are so friggin boring.

I agree, especially since the Caps have repeatedly shown year after year they are the ultimate regular season champion and a spectacular playoff choker. Comparable to St. Louis in the west. Can't take an east team seriously, even in the Final (see Rangers, 2014). It's the Kings or the Blackhawks, yet again this season, and the league and its fans will be cheated if the two teams don't meet in the WCF.

By the way, the Kings are wearing their gold legends night uniforms in Boston on February 9, to commemorate the 50th anniversary for the award of the franchise to Jack Kent Cooke that day, February 9, 1966.

That trip is looking to be brutal with a Thurs/Fri/Sun morning centerpiece. Reminds me of the 4 games in 5 nights fiasco years ago.

I'd say no unless it becomes common place. We don't have all the details. But it can just happen or he could be sick and it caused it.

Gasp! The Blackhawks are still good?! lol No surprise. As Sutter said, road to the Stanley Cup goes through Chicago.

looking at last 10 games the ducks are surging too.
I am rooting for the ducks to pay for a rental but miss the payoffs this year..we all know how much that it sucks

Not going to happen Ron, Kings will get there but no way Chicago does.

It's not possible for a team that has played 65 playoff games over the past three years to contend. In fact, based on what I heard earlier in this thread, they will be lucky to make the playoffs.
