I tried to envision a deadline deal in which we got the Sedins as our third line, that would just be uuuuunnnfaiiiir
 
I doubt the Sedins will ever be separated. If you trade for one, you have to pay for the other as well.

No fourth line, as we'd have to roll with a 17 man roster for cap purposes. Can't see any realistic situation where we part with the assets to acquire them or manage to make the cap work, but I'd love it if only for the reaction from the nucks fans.

I did.

It really is unbelievable, the homerism the two of those displayed, especially on the winning goal in overtime. It was outright cheering (both the PBP and the color analyst). They most certainly outdid themselves from the other night.

For those of you that didn't catch it, listen to Bob and Jim on the Martinez goal to win the Stanley Cup and then multiply that by a factor of 5, and you get these two clowns' reaction.

Incredibly unprofessional, but hey...that's pretty much the state of NHL hockey television transmission these days. I am still looking for the memo that all the clubs received telling them to have their TV announcers hype the game when a goal is scored. I know its out there; no other explanation for this nonsense.

I picture Brown "accidentally" knocking his own line mates loopy because, you know, it is the Sedins, and he his Brownie. He just can't help it. Then Kopi would have to be triple shifted and DD would play forward, making room for Dowd. :sarcasm:
 
During the Jets Caps games yesterday, the GWG that the Jets scored in OT required a 9 min review because Trotz called a coach's challenge on Mark Scheifele’s goal that it was off sides due to Blake Wheeler's skate being over the blue line before the puck was.

The first reply immediately after the challenge showed the puck was in the zone first (there's a link below with the goal, the reply and the entire 10 min process where they waited for a decision.) How it took nine minutes to come up with 'inconclusive' is ridiculous.

It shouldn't have gone to Toronto, they could have determined it a lot sooner.
Nine minutes is a long time, and the end result was 'inconclusive.'
They need to tighten that rule up on the off sides.

Situation room's official decision

At 4:40 of overtime in the Capitals/Jets game, the Situation Room initiated a review under the terms of a Coach’s Challenge to examine whether Winnipeg was off-side prior to Mark Scheifele’s goal.

Review was not conclusive in determining whether Winnipeg was off-side prior to the goal. According to Rule 78.7, “If a review is not conclusive and/or there is any doubt whatsoever as to whether the call on the ice was correct, the On-Ice Official(s) will be instructed to confirm their original call.”

Therefore the original call stands – good goal Winnipeg Jets.

Eklund Reported (and I understand that just putting his name with the word 'reported' doesn't give him a sniff at being a reporter ..) yesterday that the Kings have put together 'the most compensation offered to date' in a package to acquire Byfuglien

As long as Byfuglien doesn't end up in Philly, I don't care where he signs. Never liked him.
But I can't believe what would motivate DL to offer whatever 'the most ' compensation would be.
And where would the $$$ come from to afford the LTC he's seeking in the 7.5 range

NO to Chara and NO to Buff.

Chara has a big cap hit for 2 more years. Buff is gonna want $7M+

Either makes re-signing Kopitar (and Lucic) more difficult/impossible. EVEN if somehow Brown was going the other way.

What we need is the right 3rd line center to replace 2012 Stoll. Thats not gonna happen with Lewis/Shore/Andreoff. Looks like Weal isnt going to be that person either.
