Look on the bright side. Your Blackhawks scored a goal last night with 0:03.6 left on the clock, averting a shutout. It was quite amusing looking at the crowd shots after that goal, as though they really had a chance from center ice to tie it up.

It's annoying not having a simple, catchall, elegant stat to measure defensive performance like you can use points to evaluate offensive production, because then the simple minded can't grasp a deeper, longer argument; even some of the national 'writers' just go "POINTS!" then drop the mic and walk off. Lazy lazy lazy.

And what the **** is wrong with this board? Why is any Kings fan even defending Doughty? His hardware and play on the big stage speaks for itself. Why waste your time responding to these ****tards? I ask myself the same thing and I post there all the time. theres only so much blatant homerism I can take before I start to get mad. I know better and I know its the internet, but its like how willfully ignorant can a person be? Sens fans have a penchant for taking that ignorance to the next level for some reason

C'mon guys, why bother posting clips of Doughty making huge plays in the playoffs? We all know that the only thing that matters is regular season success and individual numbers. Screw elevating performance at a bigger stage, you know, something Karlsson and Sens fans aren't familiar with.

the ridiculous thing is that Karlsson himself hasn't even really been BAD in the playoffs, but since the comparison with Doughty is obviously waaaay closer when you bring that into the equation (aka no more "30 point gap")...it's glossed over

Let's put it this way, there's a fanboy on youtube who puts together compilations of other defensemen making mistakes to pump Karlsson. That should tell you a lot.
I just fall back on the simple fact that Doughty had more first place votes last year and if Karlsson wasn't king of being 2nd banana, he wouldn't have gotten the trophy last season.

not that it matters at this point, but i can't help but think that if the Kings squeeze into the playoffs last year Doughty wins it. Being left off several ballots entirely is just mind-blowing.
