Hmmm, Getzlaf got his second goal of the season. Not another empty-netter though, he's worked his way up to a 5 on 3 goal.
 
WPG beats PIT 1-0 on a penalty shot goal. The PBP for PIT was saying it was the first time a game has been decided on one penalty shot goal since '97-'98 ('87-'88?). I didn't quite catch it, but anyway it's been awhile.

It's ironic both teams wear so much orange, because both defenses are as effective as traffic cones.

That was some great defense by Calgary being up 4-3. I think Brodie was trying to let the Oilers tie the game up with the turnover at the blueline, and only a great save prevented it.
 
Atlantic is looking like it will be a dog fight.

First through fifth place has a separation of only 2 points. And Tampa is lurking in sixth at 5 points out of first. :popcorn:

That's about how angry I'd be if Brown were making 8.25M and had one empty net goal and 1 5v3 goal on the year.

Trade- Rumor that began a few days ago comes to fruition, Oilers send Scrivens to the Habs for Kassian.

MIght work out for both teams, Habs need goaltending help and they unload Kassian, who if he turns himself around is a pretty good forward

Florida Panthers now in 1st place in the Atlantic, with their 6th straight win and 12 W's in the last 15 games. They're really playing well, 4 lines deep and getting a lot from their d. Barkov has been really impressive, such a stud and only 20. Ekblad continues to be a very good young defensemen with a lot of talent, vision and smarts,
5 goals in his last 10 games.

Nick Bjugstad, who was their leading scorer with 24 goals last year has been sidelined since Nov 30 with migraines has started skating again.

Flames Johnny Gaudreau, 5 goals in the last 2 games, 12 goals and 18 pts in 11 games in December, having a hot month. He's now 6th in scoring in the NHL with 39 pts.

How much I like the Panthers, its not that they are very dominant. Fun to watch yes.

They are HF's baby toy until they are succesfull but doubt they will be anytime soon.

they're going to be real nasty in a couple years when Barkov and Ekblad fully round into form.

the key here for them though is does that happen before Luongo falls off a cliff
 
Sens fans and EK woshippers are really something. Karlsson losing a poll to Doughty and they lose their ****.
