Just watched Nash's postgame. To read his quotes is one thing but to hear him is quite another. Not sure I've ever heard someone sound so defeated in my life. Get it together man, you're a professional. I have to agree with others: dude wanted the spotlight and now it's backfiring, he is cracking under the pressure.

I don't know if he's an airhead, immature or got conditioned toward wrong-thinking (and I'm pretty sure we can't have a quality discussion on those options), but he's asked for stuff he shouldn't have wanted ever since someone convinced him to change his mind about wearing the C here.

I'd take him back in Columbus, although not at that cap hit. We need guys with skills and he has them, and it'd be great if he'd see some postseason success right here in Columbus. The frustrating thing about the guy is that he has a body and skills for the playoffs, but he just doesn't have the will to get in the ring and fight.

It was a pretty sudden about-face. I can only imagine his agent or someone else close to him convinced Rick that he needed to perform on a larger stage for marketing/national recognition reasons
and that he could not get that in Columbus. Unfortunately, with his salary, he's going to be a scapegoat if he doesn't perform like an All-Star, and Rick seems to be wilting under the heat. Shame of it is, I think Nash would be great in Columbus if he didn't have to wear the C and was simply someone the Jackets looked to for 30 or 35 goals a year.

Replace "good" with "even better" and the sentence can stand as is. ;)

I disagree. Speaking as a Buckeye fan, for example, I like seeing Michigan do well. It just makes it all the more satisfying when we crush them utterly.

OT but, as a Buckeye fan I love seeing Michigan struggle. I feel the way you do about every other Big 10 team, especially MSU, but the more Michigan loses, the happier I am. That's why they're a rival.

I cant imagine the emotions Marty was going through during the anthem and after the game, the times when the game couldnt protect him from the emotions. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family

So apparently it was the culture in Columbus that has led to Nash being a disappointment in the playoffs this year.....gotcha. Look, I think most would admit the organization was a mess for a good part of the time Nash was a Jacket, but at a certain point the player himself needs to take some responsibility for his shortcomings.

Speaking of which, Brassard has been stepping up for the Rangers while Nash still shows few vital signs. I mean, one of the last players we'd imagine scoring the tough goals is doing it. Nash has no one to blame but himself for his shortcomings.

Brass is a playoff performer, NAsh isn't. Seems pretty apparent that Game 7 is happening now as its 3-1 for the Rangers. Rangers will probably win, hopefully BOS/MTL beats them up.

Stuff like this is why I have a lot of bad feelings for Nash, even if it isn't his fault.

Can't spell CRosbY with C R Y! And Evangeline Malkin is the best after whistle dance partner I've ever seen. Every time there is a couple guys locked up after a play Malkin is 3rd man in. Always picks his dance partner who's already engaged. It's ridiculous and quite funny. Can't stand either player (great players but I don't like the antics)

its literally one of the worst things i've heard by mainstream hockey media...at this point, how can it not be his fault? he's been the catalyst to ruining two lockerrooms...

I mean what's being said. So far as I know, Nash has never really directly trashed the team.

Brassard put in more effort on his goal tonight than he did in his entire CBJ career.

Why does it seem that most of you guys here feel this way? If you ask me Brassard was way better offensively and gave a lot more effort here than he seems to be given credit for. Better than a lot of other young and veteran guys that were here during the same time. Now I don't know about any off ice things, but on ice I think he's a perfect example of being a victim/scapegoat of where our hockey team was a few years ago.

Personally, I don't necessarily fault his effort while here. The way I saw it, Brassard was the weakest hockey player, ever, totally unable to win a puck battle and tossed around more than a puppy's chew toy. He may have been giving it all he had, but he was constantly rag-dolled by anyone and everyone. His success now, is totally annoying. I wish he would stop it.

b/c he himself at one point all but said he didn't give full effort here...

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am torn on who to root for in Game 7. Bitter that the Pens beat us, but man do I ever hate seeing those guys on the Rangers doing well.

I'm with you, I don't want either the Pens or Rangers to advance. I've developed a strong dislike for the Bruins, too, and don't care much for anyone in the west. I suppose that leaves me with the Habs, but a win by them would make their fans insufferable. I like their team, city, and country, but I don't want to hear their fans.

Following the playoffs after the Jackets are bounced in the first round is even tougher than when they don't even make them!
