From what we've heard about Moyzakin in the past, he had no interest in jumping the ocean, he was happy being a big fish in a little pond. It wasn't because of lack of talent

This is true, I actually got a personal email from Doug MacLean back in the day telling me that Mozyakin had no interest in playing in the NHL (after I yelled at him to hurry up and sign the dude).

Oh look, Mason Raymond scored with another illegal spin-o-rama move in the shootout against the Senators where he stops and pulls the puck backwards.

Laviolette out in Philly.

That is one bad hockey team. I've watched probably 4 periods of games 1 and 3. No one's playing together, the defense is really bad and the coaching response has been to give guys like Rinaldo more ice time than guys like Giroux. Just a bad situation all around.

Lavy's is a good coach though - If we had an opening here, he'd be my guy.

Peter Laviolette fired by Philly, questionable decision to bring him back and fire him after 3 games. at least give him a chance.

Looks like Steve Mason got another coach fired. :sarcasm: Laviolette out as Flyers coach according to ESPN.

Mase not the problem there. .941 save %. No offense-3 goals in 3 games-makes the jackets look like an offensive juggernaut.

And speaking of tough sports towns:

"As outrageous as it seems, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is now the longest-tenured coach among the Eagles, Sixers, Phillies and Flyers."

That was terrible. Even the guys on CBC were complaining about it, and those guys don't complain about anything.

In regulation, if you stop close enough to spray the goalie with snow, you get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. In a shootout, it's not only legal, but the goal is also allowed. Also ... FORWARD PROGRESS??

I couldn't sleep tonight for some reason and decided to check out CBJ-HF and read this....

There is a ton of discussion on Satellite Canadian radio about the spin move in shootouts... imo, it must stop..

The shootout is becoming a circus act.. And, after reading about the piles of snow in our own shootout on the Island the other night it's becoming a total joke...

It's time for the fans to flood the NHL with complaints, after all, a shootout equals a point that is a huge thing to be determined by a circus act or pile of snow.... enough already!!!!

Fix the shootout NHL, now.

I must say, I was very impressed with Quick.

Most goalies try to take shots on net and direct them to the corners, but this trail blazer has decided to take shots to the corners and direct them on net. This pioneer of goal tending will likely be remembered for his bravery to go against societal norms.

Also, **** #77 on the Kings.

Notice the sarcasm smilie? The Flyers' problems go way beyond Mase. They start with Ed Snider and his expectations and trickle down from there. Another case of you can't buy a championship. Snider is much like Jerry Jones. He goes after every shiny new toy on the market, only to find it doesn't mesh with the existing personnel and he wants it corrected immediately and orders Holmgren to make moves to correct. Philly is a total grease fire at this point.

But, but...

...EVERYBODY knows they are a playoff team.

Just behind the Pens and the Rangers. Right?

Tomas Hertl. 19 year old. Leads the NHL in goals. Potted 4 tonight vs the Rangers and on his 4th goal he went between his legs Malik style.
