Man Detroit's arena is empty. Come on hockeytown, how often do you get to witness a shutout in the playoffs?!?!?!

Jeff Carter with a nice crosscheck on Barret Jackman's neck.

Not a fan of Jackman, but I will be for the remainder of this series.

Subban has that rap about being into himself but I still would take him..., he's never played on any team other than Montreal so we don't how he would be in a new room.. but that's my rational...

I'm mixed on the Rangers, historically I can be quoted from years past as being in their court but with all the CBJ players there now... I'm mixed..

I don't want Subban, because I wouldn't want to trade what it would take to get him.

The Wild did well today, the OT goal was the Hawks fault, they were standing around watching...

As for the Ottawa game, man, what a tough hitting game... The Sens are really taking it to Montreal.. great crowd too..

Methot let Subban have it.... lol

Good to see Gerard Gallant behind the Habs bench. He's a damn good ASSISTANT coach in the NHL. Ottawa, my second favorite team, is really laying the smack down!

That was perhaps the most lopsided line-brawl in recent memory. Ottawa is kicking Montreal's ass, and so many penalties/ game misconducts that the benches are nearly empty. Playoff hockey at its finest.

Subban, however, later forced Turris into a fight and was punching him even when Turris was on the ice. Not cool. I was hoping Methot would go third man in on that.

It has been a spirited game but things got really heated on the faceoff after the Sens 4th goal. White slashed Smith and that started the line brawl.

And just now Gallagher and Conacher went at it...and now it's 6-1 for Ottawa, Pageau with the hat trick.

I agree. I don't know that I've seen every single fight in a line brawl won so handily.

I like Subban, but that was bush league. I'm sure he felt left out, but finding the smallest guy and bull rushing him, then hitting while he's down? Let's see if the tough guy answers the bell with Chris Neil in game 4.

Lol MacLean took a timeout when he's up 6-1 and about to go on the powerplay. Habs respond by sending Gorges and Prust out there. Gorges takes a slapshot at Turris, and Prust fakes a charge at Craig Anderson. Rivalry brewin'.

Can someone give me some cliff notes on the Sens/Habs game??
I've read novels shorter than the penalty summary. What caused all the fights and roughing minors?

Well this series has been nasty for awhile, but in the third Ottawa scored three quick goals and were running around leveling Habs all over the place. After the 4-1 goal, Therrien put his tough guys all out at once, and the Walrus matched. Then the Senators completely dominated those fights. Cowen was ragdolling Ryan White, and Zack Smith was tossing Bouillon around.

Montreal kept up the chippy stuff, and a few more fights and Ottawa goals. Ugly as it gets for Habs fans.

The first two periods were standard hockey with the Senators winning most of the 40minutes... The third period was mostly fighting, oh, and Price giving up goals on Sen Power plays... It was ugly... line brawls at one point.

The NHL could make a real statement by issuing fines and suspensions ... but I sure hope they don't. This is as good as playoff hockey gets, and the league needs more of it.

Screw the yuppies and their European style hockey. We want intensity.

I agree, except for the Subban fight. Punching a guy when he's flat on the ice should be suspended every time.

I'm all for fights but not to the extent that almost no hockey is played... at 10 minutes left in the game Montreal had lost so many players forwards were playing defense... the benches looked like a beer league.. That's not the way NHL hockey should be played..

I'm thinking both organizations will get a call from the league...

Paul MacLean on Therrien's comment that timeout was to humiliate Habs: "They did a pretty good job of that themselves."
