Arizona Coyotes Lounge XXV

Who would have thought you'd find a house like this in Gilbert? Imagine the drunken go cart race parties.

I know that besides me, only two people on this forum might care about a new stadium for the KC Royals, but I find it an interesting comparison to the Tempe vote. The TED would not have involved taxpayer funds and almost certainly would have been revenue-positive for the city...it failed. The Royals are asking KC taxpayers to foot half the bill, a whopping $1 BILLION!

This guy (community activist type) is trying to rally opposition, but I think it will easily pass. Residents love the Royals; in KC, there is a different vibe for their team than how most valley residents think about the Coyotes...if they think about them at all.

I play golf with a former Royal's Pitcher and a tweener catcher who's up and down from Triple A in the Royal's system. Have never heard either say a bad word about the City or the Team. Good luck with the campaign

Anyone know if by "run out of time in Phoenix" it was clear Kendricks meant Phoenix, or was he hinting at Arizona?
A’s wanted to go to Vegas….. DBacks threatened to go there 4 years ago.

Vegas doesn’t want the A’s (they see their owner sucks)…. But would probably love the DBacks.

- Roof leaks and often doesn’t open/close properly

- Broken water lines everywhere.

- At 25 years old, it’s becoming one of the oldest parks in the league.

Yet the two oldest parks are considered gems and likely will never be demolished.

Cheaper to fix the roof and water lines I bet, but isn't the dispute about who pays to fix it? Seems like a solvable problem.

Yup, it's called negotiations.

You have to get past the 50-year mark before nostalgia starts to erase the shortcomings of a sporting facility. Plus, Chase Field was a cold, impersonal warehouse when it was built, and I don't think time has really changed that impression.

Sure, if Phoenix doesn't mind putting a couple dozen million bucks of taxpayer dough on the line for renovations. Ken Kendrick doesn't like spending his own money.

Parisians hated the Eiffel Tower when it was built and couldn't wait for the World's Fair to be over so it could be torn down. I guess some things grow on you.
