Sports and politics should stay far away from each other.
Kind of hypocritical to ban Russia and not Israel don’t you think? Or are some people allowed to kill others indiscriminately as long as it’s the people on “your team” doing the killing? Not trying to open up a can or worms but, I mean c’mon man. Either leave innocent young hockey players out of it all together and leave them alone and let them play, or give everyone the same treatment.
Do two wrongs make a right? Is revenge killing the ok type of killing? I dunno, I’m not perfect or morally superior to anyone but I think the correct answer is no, at least when it comes to civilian populations.

Yeah. Much different. The difference is if Israel were to surrender, the Hamas terrorists would kill any Jew. If the Hamas terrorists would disarm, there would be peace. I think we should let Israel determine how they handle the situation and just support them anyway we can.

The IIHF statements on why Russia, Belarus, and Israel were banned are nearly identical. Both state the safety of all participants. It's a cop out as it tries to avoid the political reasons. I can't remember the Olympic Committee ever banning a country over safety concerns.
I say let them all play.

What's your point? If Israel has security concerns for their athletes, then they can pay for additional protection. Shouldn't be the IIHF making the call.

If IIHF wants to flex their anti-war virtues, they could ban all countries that fought or funded war in the current or prior year. A nice objective blanket rule.
