Arizona Coyotes Lounge XXV

Steve Peters (of all people) gave me a link to a website he’s used for ultra cheap, throw-away suits. I got a 3-piece (not wearing the vest anyway - haha) with a tie and a shirt for $100 and $20 shipping is getting it to me in under a week. I am NOT expecting quality - Lol. But Petey said that he’s known NHL coaches who’ve used this site in a pinch when they needed a cheap suit quick (this site overnights suits - lol).

Last time I wore a suit was my wedding nearly 12 years ago. That suit still fits me, but it’s black. And this wedding wants “spring colors”. So I expect to wear this suit exactly one time.

I’m in sales. And do the whole fly out and present to the board, and fly out to negotiate with the CFO thing. And I fly out for conferences. I’ve presented at conferences. Client dinners. All that. But I never wear a suit. Blazer+Oxford+Slacks. Or Oxford+Tie+Slacks.

I could wear suits. I feel like it’s usually 50/50 between the blazer/separates look and the full blown suit look. I’m just a cheapskate. I like to only buy clothes I can wear for work and also in real life. I can wear the oxfords untucked with jeans and I can wear the slacks with polos/t-shirts. I only need the two blazers. Haha.
It's probably see through. It's really amazing of the deals you can get on clothing. Kohl's, the outlet stores have some great deals, even Macy's sometimes. Then I go into Arizona Leather to purchase a leather sofa and they want $6k. Go to American Furniture they want $900. I know it's not the same quality, but come on. I could buy a new sofa every five year's and I still wouldn't spend that $6k in my lifetime.

As we were driving around one day, a newly divorced friend of mine asked if I would mind stopping at Goodwill so he could see if he could find something for his young kids. I couldn't believe what people throw out. Some people's shit is other people's gold.

And you get stuff that's unique to the region you're visiting. We were in L.A., and went to an Angels game. Fifteen minutes in an Anaheim Goodwill, and I had a $3 Angels shirt to wear to the game. And then back to a Goodwill drop-off site with it.

That's where my whiteout outfit from 2012 comes from. White trousers, white shoes, white plastic party top hat (later replaced by white hockey the hard way hard hat). All sitting in my closet, waiting, waiting...

Button up, collared shirt. “Dress Shirt”. Oxfords are different because they’re woven rather than shiny. So a little more reasonable to wear with jeans

Kinda like how a sport coat (which is what I actually have, and not blazers) is different from a suit jacket. An Oxford doesn’t have the very dressy collars or cuffs or the very dressy shine.

Also, I said slacks but I’m actually wearing chinos. Again, because you can wear those to a backyard Barbeque. They aren’t really dress pants. No pleats or anything.

All of that, again, is born from being a cheapskate and wanting to maximize the versatility of a clothing item. Can I “get away with” wearing these things together in a business meeting but then also separately to the bowling alley with my kids. Haha.

I’ll let you know what it looks like when it gets here on Tuesday. Haha. I’m expecting it to be good enough to get away with one time. Lol.

Well?

eBay is loaded with good coyotes stuff. Apparently the stuff from the phoenix era didn’t sell well.
I think it's the opposite, the Phoenix era stuff sold buckets that's why there's still a lot of it out there 2nd hand to this day. Even the pre-lockout pajama reds were quite popular at one time.

Try and find like the road kill coyotes black third jersey, a lot harder to come across. It's easier to find the greens and those are like 10+ years older.

I still have one of those! Reebok garbage. The white with red shoulders one I bought was the same way. First time I washed them, they started falling apart. My original black and white (never bought that pea soup green one) still look brand new today at over 20 years old. The red and white howling coyote ones I have are CCM too. Still perfect. Quality matters.

God help us with fanatics. I was lucky to get a “defective” current road jersey for $75 and I have no clue what is wrong with it.

The CCM ones would have been in the era before the replica - premier - authentic levels.
99.9% of the Reebok stuff out there was the premier or replica both of which sucked in comparison to the old CCMs as you noticed.

But if you managed to find an actual authentic Reebok those are very nice. I have a home red team Canada knockoff Coyotes (the ones from like 2018) and it's the best quality jersey I have, meh design aside. I bought it right when Fanatics came in cause I knew their stuff is the absolute worst.

There used to just be the actual game sweaters and the replicas. I didn't know they had multiple levels after that. Never saw a Reebok for sale that wasn't the garbage unless you wanted to buy the actual game one with the straps and shit that I didn't want or need. Not to mention the fact that they were at least triple the price. My white with the red shoulders one was the only one I had personalized. I was so pissed when it fell apart so fast. There was a place that would personalize my old originals but it was a pain to get them done. You had to mail it to them so I never did it. Wish I did now.

Lots of 80s bands trying to hang on to their former glory, but I thought this Pixies concert from 2022 was exceptionally good.

Kinda weird of Putin to do something like that considering he'd never concern himself with Michkov. :sarcasm:

Kinda weird for anyone with a brain to want to be a Russian citizen... particularly an American.
