Are the NJ Devils already collapsing?

And you don't know it was an intentional act to injure a player unless you can read minds. Hischier has 85 penalty minutes in well over 300 games, so he obviously doesn't have any history of playing dirty unlike POS players like Gudas and Tkachuk. It's too bad the swamp kitties and some of their fans don't have too much basic common sense.

Like I said, if it wasn't intentional, it was so reckless that it's no better than if it was intentional.

What prompted this anyway? Had Barkov (or anyone else) taken a shot at Hischier earlier?

When the linesman drops the puck onto those little dots on the ice, it's called a face off. The puck is now in play and it's the job of the two players standing near the dot (they are called centers) to try to win the puck back to their team.

LOL. Emphasizing this only makes it look less innocent.

As a devils fan, I'll just be happy if we make the playoffs
This the equivalent of a Leafs fans saying:

"As a Leafs fan, I'll just be happy if we win 1 playoff series".

It's a bad place to be. You should be asking for more. Longing for mediocrity is something no one should do. I hate it when Leaf fans say that^

And this comment is nothing more than an ad hominem attack. And what's hilarious is that you think you're making a point.
Regardless of you having played the sport at an intense level (you clearly have not) - if you've even watched NHL games - you'd know that boxing-out and/or collapsing on the dot is routine.

It happens every game. Every period, actually.

This is such a weird hill to die on.

We'd be happy to trade you a 4th for Marino. I've heard that economic deflation has begun so his value should be lower than it was a few months ago.

what fans (devils or leafs) longing for is completely irrelevant. the team (gm, coaches and players) set their own goals, which normally aren't communicated with the media. those goals might not be purely result oriented.

for fans you can have moderate expectation and be most likely postively surprised. you can have reasonable expectations and positive and negative surprises are equally likely. or you can have unfounded positive expectations and you are basically guaranteed to be hammered by the results.

so far i know as a 'tough' guy, who takes the beating with a smile.

Again, anyone that believes that Nico intentionally tried to injure Barkov on Saturday night is just out to lunch. Nico has never once in his career had a dirty play. Literally on Saturday morning after the morning skate before the FLA game, he was interviewed and said that Barkov is THE player in the NHL that he tries to model his game after. Do we really believe that 7 hours later he just decided to go out there and intentionally injure the guy? It was a freak, quick play off a faceoff....and the fact that the Panthers players (and fans) reacted the way that they did is outrageous to me.

Lol comparing a team who's had multiple playoff failures to a team versus who hasn't one. That's like saying if 2016-2017 Leafs were a failure when they had no reason being in the playoffs and gave Washington a run for their money that year.

I'm happy they beat the Panthers, but they are definitely coming back to earth. Still a top 10 team, but probably not a top 3/5 team.

Well once again, duh. What had Leafs/Devils fans had in the decade prior before they started to make noise? Both had fluke years that they made the playoffs with a star winger and years of pain, of course they're gonna be annoying fanbases once they started to get better, lol. Also it's honestly better for the league, it gives teams who are struggling some hope for the future.

There was no reason for Nico to even considering dropping the gloves, game was over. Maybe Tkachuk shouldn’t wait til he goes down 2 with 30 seconds left and the refs all around to do something
