Are the NJ Devils already collapsing?

For the last time: Obviously Nico is not going to have a fist fight with the opposing team's goon. It doesnt make any sense and is not a part of any "hockey etiquette". If Barkov challenges him upon return and Nico doesnt answer the bell, then you have a case.

Tkachuk's douchebaggery was exceptional and his assault on a player / person not willing to engage is not acceptable. No wonder that Devils fans were upset. Hope they behaved well on the Panthers board.
They did not, they spewed diarrhea all over the place.

Implying that if there was no malicious intent on Nico's part means he is incompetent to an embarrassing degree shows that you have no clue what goes into taking a faceoff at a remotely high level. Incredibly relevant and you're getting properly dragged for it.

You keep writing your own fiction.

This thread has really gone off the rails… sheesh.

NJ should still quite easily make the playoffs, but I do think the lack of physicalness of their team is really starting to show now that things are starting to get a bit more serious.

Should be a great learning season for the young guys though.

Didn’t think so at first but now that the funk has lasted this long it’s putting their overall quality into question. Perhaps they really were overrated and just had a fluke start to the season. Idk who the real Devils are now….

Better question is how do you beat the Bruins? They just cant seem to lose

By transforming into the Ottawa Senators.

The Devils will be more than fine and this will never come up but Wood would fetch something nice.
I guess its what playoff teams have to deal with if they want to make it but man does it feel bad that Wood and Severson probably will walk this off season and the Devils will get nothing for it.

Ulmark for Vezina.

Anyway I laugh at all the people thinking the Devils are collapsing. probably the same people who were dunking on the penguins when they sucked early in the season.

Where are they now?

oh yeah, 3rd in the east

The Penguins who I actually like even less than the Devils have a track record the Devils do not.

Meh the lack of physicality doesn't matter much in the regular season. It's the playoffs where it matters. Leafs are the softest team in the league but continue to have elite regular seasons.

If the devils are struggling, it's definitely because they've regressed. Their start was never sustainable. Should still be able to make the playoffs though if they don't completely fall apart

Those “I can’t see any teams keeping up with NJ” comments from some Nj fans are looking pretty cringe now
I'm pretty sure most of those posts had the words "right now" and even if they didn't I doubt they mean't that no team could keep up with NJ from then till the sun explodes millions of years from now.

Anyways, Wake me up when the Rangers and Islanders and Wings have more points then NJ. I really don't see those teams taking a WC spot over the Devils.

No they we’re straight up no team can compete with them. Even two NJ fans stating they shouldn’t have too much of a problem with Boston. Everyone has problems with Boston
