But yet the Devils clan invaded the Panthers board to defend their cowardly Captain?

I wouldnt really say clan here.

There are some notable team posters here that dont even post on our own NJD board either at all or with much frequency. They seem like interesting fellas, no doubt, but not necessarily part of the pack/clan by their own choosing.

But all teams have that it seems!

Anyway we are not collapsing! And Nico didnt intend to injure Barkov... I think taking extra hits and side dishes at him for 2 games is already past done for a mostly incidental play...If your team keeps at it, the devils will keep pushing back at this.

Thats not relevant to the question i was answering to but also, the Panthers board is not the main board either
Well, that is true, it is not the main board either.
For the last time: Obviously Nico is not going to have a fist fight with the opposing team's goon. It doesnt make any sense and is not a part of any "hockey etiquette". If Barkov challenges him upon return and Nico doesnt answer the bell, then you have a case.

Tkachuk's douchebaggery was exceptional and his assault on a player / person not willing to engage is not acceptable. No wonder that Devils fans were upset. Hope they behaved well on the Panthers board.
Haula went after Lundell because of a high sticking, Lundell wanted nothing to do with it. Actually pretty similiar situation to Tkachuck vs Hischier. Why aren't we gonna talk about Haula "assaulting" Lundell, if Tkachuck situation was an assault and douchebaggery? Also Lundell got penalized for fighting while only trying to NOT to fight, Nico not so much even he did exactly the same thing but pretended to be scared for his life.

Oh Nico wasn't pretending, he was actually pissing his pants.

as you invited us, i went there to educate myself and found some really intelligent posts.
At this point, let Bennett trolley track Hughes.
I don’t understand why they don’t kill the Devils stars already, the refs are allowing tons of late hits against the panthers
Run our 4th line out there to start and be as physical as possible.
Get in Blackwood's kitchen and get Tkachuk involved in goading them into some penalties.
Benny destroying Hughes ❤️
Starman just broke up to that mini Breakaway and stopped it. Plus he seemed to injure Hamilton.

Never mind, he didn't injure hamilton. He got hit with the puck in front of his net.
On top of everything else. Nico hasn’t been taken care of.
you are totally right to be upset. devils shouldn't drag down the quality of your board.

Lol how are those comparable? Not sure if it was Haula's first career fight too but id be surprised if he has 5 fighting majors to his name in what.. 10 seasons?

Hischier didnt do anything to Tkachuk. Tkachuk just targeted him which is an assault. Not part of the game.

Haula didnt go after Lundell after the refs separated them. Thats my biggest issue with the case Tkachuk and Hischier.

I wish they would just get rid of fighting in the NHL, there is no need for it.

No other Major sport allows it, its time to move on from this barbaric thing

Wow...I completely forgot that Florida traded away their 1st round pick this year. For Ben freaking Chariot nonetheless. That's insane to trade away a completely unprotected 1st round pick in THIS draft.

Panthers are currently tied with Montreal and St. Louis for the 9th worse win percentage in the league. Now, I don't think the Panthers will continue to struggle this much the rest of the season and the odds of that pick being top 3 are very long, but....ooof. As for the playoffs, they still need to pass 4 teams to get into a wildcard spot. Wouldn't put it past last year's President Trophy winners, but they need to start making their move soon.
I was rooting for the Panthers in last year's playoffs. They were an exciting, largely home-grown team and Barkov is one of my favorite non-Devils players. I'm also not a fan of smaller market teams getting shit on as much as they do.

I understand being pissed at Barkov's injury, but you guys are out to lunch if you think it was intentional. Why would Nico intentionally injure him? The two of them don't have any history together that Nico would need to retaliate for nor does Nico have any history of being a dirty player. Was just an unfortunate play and I'm just glad that Barkov wasn't more seriously injured. But calling out a star player in Nico for not dropping the gloves against a bigger, more experienced fighter in Tkachuk is just ridiculous. He has nothing to gain and a whole lot to lose if he gets injured. If the situations were reversed, would you really want Barkov dropping the gloves with someone like Wood?

So injure the captain of the opposing team - when you have to answer to that - it's an assault, not part of the game

Get accidentally high sticked - go after the high sticker who doesn't want anything to do with fighting, most certainly did not accept the invite to dance, get roughed anyways - not an assault, part of the game

the f*** is this logic

Why should Nico "have to answer for that" though? And particularly against a bigger, more experienced fighter in Tkachuk? Who the hell is making these rules? Where the hell is the logic in that?

Sucks that Barkov got injured, but it was an accident. Not like he threw an intentional elbow or anything, just an unfortunate play. No reason Nico should be expected to have to fight a bigger opponent and potentially get injured because some cavemen fans demand some type of "justice".

And Lundell high sticking was an accident. Why the hell he should answer to that? Exactly.

Are we gonna justify beating up a player every time he receives a minor?

Had one of the "easier" schedules to start the season (average opponent ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league).

On a long losing streak currently.

Their huge lead in points has dwindled down to nothing. Canes are now tied with them in points, Rangers 3 points back.

Now they have one of "toughest" remaining schedules in the league:

NHL Strength of Schedule Rankings

...Not that anyone's schedule is easy or hard with today's parity.

Do you still consider them a top-5 team? Or are they settling as just another good team? Or, are they totally self-destructing?
I'm going to allow you to take the lead here, but you really should give me a little credit for predicting this.
