I have to stop. I do not like the poster I've become. I haven't always been this way. Though I have skewed on the cynical side, I don't think I was anywhere near as insufferable pre-2020.

I'm really going to try not to post anything super negative anymore. Please bear with me as I try to get better.

I certainly hope nobody here takes anything personally. We all love the Hawks....just have different ideas on how things should go.

WHL playoffs: Spitfires win ..... and the series with Bulldogs is going to 7 games. Haven't watched much of it but Hamilton folks have something to cheer for.

They finally ran into some resistance. Hamilton swept each of the first rounds, 4-0, 4-0, 4-0, but have been forced to Game 7 by Windsor. Been a great series.

Edmonton beat Seattle last night in the WHL finals so the Memorial Cup bracket is just waiting on the OHL series winner. Edmonton, Shawinigan and Saint John make up the other three.
 
I will be moving to Southern Illinois at the end of the summer to live in my grandmother’s house who passed away this Spring.
I have a lot of mixed feelings about it but after losing my cat to kidney cancer and separating from a 6 year relationship it might be a good change of pace.

Haven't been big into video games since high school, but the new TMNT game brings the nostalgia. Tonight = TMNT, a beer, and homemade pizza.

I picked a good time to start working for a bank.

My first work week was only four days due to orientation not being until Tuesday.

My third work week, next week, will also only be four days thanks to getting the Monday after Juneteenth off.

And my fifth work week will also be only four days thanks to the 4th of July.

Solid starting time.

Vienna, IL. It’s a pretty small town in between Carbondale and Paducah, KY. And that was definitely an attractive thing about it… not making house payments/paying rent.

Ah, so actual Southern Illinois? I was half expecting the Chicago definition of anything south of Kankakee as being Southern Illinois, haha.

Check out Metropolis for a Superman fix on your way to Paducah.

And look forward to the 2024 eclipse, you'll be right in the path of totality.

Yeah definitely. I spent my summers there so I’m pretty familiar with the area. Lots of great nature and places to explore. I’ve been to the Superman statue and Fort Massac many times as a kid. I was actually down there for the 2017 eclipse and it was an incredible experience. Apparently Ozzy Osbourne was playing a festival not too far from there during it.
 
I maintain that everything south of kankakee is the same culturally. Wouldnt call it southern IL until your south of mattoon/charleston though.

Central Illinois is a whole other world from Southern Illinois.

From Chicagoland, sure, but don’t forget northeastern Illinois is very different, too.
