Update about my old man's cancer diagnoses:

We caught it early enough. PET scan showed it contained only to the stomach, which is rare for that type of cancer (usually symptoms appear after it has spread to lymph nodes and potentially the liver). 'Localized' stomach cancer has about a 70% survival rate for 5 years (with surgery), and the oncologist wants us to be a little more aggressive with the treatment (still pushing for chemo before and after surgery), so odds might be a bit better than that even.

Again, thanks to all those who commented and/or reached out. Your leader appreciates your devout loyalty.
Awesome news. Happy for you bud.

Just discovered that mixing bourbon and lemonade is a damn smooth combo when you don’t have a sense of taste. Gotta find more mixes like that to avoid becoming a teetotaler, as just beer and straight spirits don’t do anything for me anymore.

Scotch and lemonade mixes up well, too. Maybe I’m an anything + lemonade guy now sans-taste thanks to Covid.

Whiskey and ginger ale or the ginger ale lemonade mix and vodka with lemonade and sweet tea are summertime staples where I grew up.

Cold refreshing and a bit of kick.

Sorry about your taste/smell. My uncle lost his completely too. It’s such a strange symptom, I hope it comes back to you eventually. My wife didn’t lose hers for very long but a lot of tastes/smells are totally off now. Some things taste like plastic or chemicals, some things smell rotten, and she loves cilantro now post-COVID after years of hating it.

Weird weird weird

The Arnold Palmer canned drinks also go well with bourbon. Put it in a frosty mug and you're living the fancy life.

Got a couple pairs of Allbirds. They’re great. Most comfortable shoe ever.

I have foot/achilles issues and while I don’t love them, Vionics are the only things that help with those issues. But with that said, all I do is bike and only dress for business settings from the waist up.

Have you tried Allbirds? I’m not embellishing. Absolutely live them.

Have not. Was gifted a pair of sandals from Vionics which especially helped my achilles out so just stuck with them since it worked.

Saw some people mixing beer, grapefruit juice and grated ginger. They enjoyed it. I tried it and spit it out. Tried it again a week or so later just for something different to drink, and decided it was actually okay. Now I even like it as a summertime drink.

I want to apologize to everyone for being a shitty poster for the last 3-4 years. I don't know what caused me to lose my shit. I feel like my presence makes this board a worse place.

I have to stop. I do not like the poster I've become. I haven't always been this way. Though I have skewed on the cynical side, I don't think I was anywhere near as insufferable pre-2020.

I'm really going to try not to post anything super negative anymore. Please bear with me as I try to get better.

Peace,
KBS
