Sorry to hear. Hopefully everyone feels alright.
Football practice, then drinking modello’s with the fellow coaches.
Damn bro. Prays for a speedy recovery for you and the family. It is not fun.
Thanks.

Ibuprofen seems to be handling most of my issues, believe it or not. Hadn't taken anything all day since I'm not a big fan of taking stuff unless I have to... and by 4pm or so, I was hurting pretty bad. That's when I posted lol. Took a few ibuprofen and now all the body aches are gone, and I have just a very dull headache. Definitely has me super tired, though. Little bit of congestion, but nothing crazy. Light cough. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.

The little guy is his normal self for the most part, except he's sleeping like 75% of the day. When he's awake, he's acting fine. Same thing with a light cough, but zero congestion really. And he had a fever for a couple days. Wife is doing pretty good too. Doesn't seem to be hitting us real hard, but we both fully feel like shit compared to normal, obviously.

I thought about it. Haha. I have like 60 bottles of whiskey. And who knows how much barrel-aged beer. I'm sure I could try and kill this shit a bit. ;)

Honestly, I'm just waiting on these two pork shoulders to finish, and then I'm hitting the sheets. I'm exhausted. Ones at 191 and one at 188. Almost there. Then I might go sleep 12 hours.

Man, my four year-old son is dealing with his first death, his grandma's cat, and it is damn heart-wrenching to go through. He apparently just asked his other grandma this afternoon if the cat gets good cat food and gets to play with other cats in heaven.

The things you don't anticipate as a parent, man...

He's thankfully handling it like a trooper. He had a good half hour cry session after we let him know of the cat's passing and has been inquisitive off and on ever since.

Update: it just dawned on my son that one day people die, which means that one day his parents will die, which means one day he'll die.

He was a tad shell-shocked for a bit before returning to his normal self and going to bed. Man, what a trooper.

Whole family has covid. My 3 year old nephew passed it unknowingly to my 2 year old son. He passed it to me and my wife. I feel like dogshit, run over by a train, then sent through a wood chipper. Confirmed test on my son 3 days before throwing my daughter's 8th grade grad party tomorrow. Had to reschedule that, and let everyone know. Had to smoke 16lbs of pork butt today, while sick, that was thawed and supposed to be for the party tomorrow. Pop-up thunderstorm hits me mid-smoke, when there was a "10% chance of rain" today, and I have to drag the big ass smoker under our gazebo solo, in a thunderstorm. Fun times. How's everyone else's Friday going?
Get paxlovid. People say it helps a ton.

Being mauled to death by a bear seems like one of the absolute worst ways to die. I don’t like bears. I don’t get how people go camping in their territories either.

Black bears are more skittish so I get that. We’ve vacationed in Tennessee a few times over in Pigeon Forge and they’re everywhere over there. I’ve never seen one fortunately.

Unless they have cubs, they're really not going to just attack people, and even then it's not a guarantee. I feel like they catch the same shit that sharks do, when the odds of being attacked/mauled by them are astronomically low, just like with sharks. You have a better chance of being killed by a bee than a bear.

I feel like that's probably statistically true for the population but I'm not allergic and I'd much rather fight a bee than a bear.

As Chihawks said, unless they have cubs it’s usually not an issue, and if you see cubs, get out of there. Most of the time people have issues with Bears is if they stupidly leave food in the tents or leave garbage laying around.

My bro was looking for some recommendations btw, over on BF. I tagged you in the general off-topic stuff. Him, his wife, and son are in New York until Monday I believe, so you can probably talk to him about it over there. Looking for recommendations on food places and such.

Don't know how public I made it but I had a stroke in February. Went from 275 and I weighed in yesterday at 208. Was a "strong" 275. Swung a sledge for a living. Could bench my body weight a month ago. Struggled with 190 on Thursday. Still have a "blood mark" on my brain.

Quit drinking. Quit smoking. Quit using psychoactives. Feel great.

Feel weak though. Life ain't fair.
