How'd you get into doing this? _
When I was in junior high the biology teacher would have a night each month we could look through the scope. That hooked me!! Just the exposure to it as well as being a science person.

Imaging can be a real bear and I still do visual at times with a different scope. I spent more time on team viewer with China on a camera than I ever did using it. But once everything was grooved and in a good workflow I am comfy doing it. The image processing takes as long or longer sometimes than actually capturing it. Harder than processing regular images in PS and I went to a seminar to help learn how to do it. The best part about the hobby is you can make it what you want. Imaging...visual....solar....planetary.... Keeping it fun is key I have found and the want to learn is also important. I hope someone else picks it up on here! The best US based mount and telescope make is in Rockford, IL at Astro Physics. If you are there check them out as they are super helpful and nice.

Absolutely incredible.

Me too, now. Damn.

The sheer buffoonery on the part of her progeny that is about to follow will make even clearer the absurdity of maintaining a monarchy in a 21st century democratic society.

As a Canadian, it’s so damn stupid

RIP to her of course. But let’s end the damn monarchy. They’re only good for the tabloids, they do absolute dick. They’re British Kardashians.

I have to admit that I'll forever be confused at supporters of monarchism in the modern era (especially as their supposed unifying function is undone literally any time they speak their mind beyond empty platitudes), but still seems weird that she's dead. She's just been around an eternity.

Condolences to anyone actually upset by this though, obviously.

Yes. I have one of their mounts and one scope from them. They are the best to work with!

I really couldn’t give two shits about the British royal family. Don’t get why anyone does.
I am with you 100000%. I just don’t get the monarchy thing. I am meritocracy based not birth based and the monarchy just seems 500 years out of date.

Anyone else getting constant popups asking to disable your adblocker? I have had popups with potential malware come up from this site so there's no way in hell I'm disabling my adblocker.

Ok this adblocker notification every time I click on a page needs to stop.
I understand what they're doing, but I will just stop using the site on PC rather than turn off my adblocker.

If they turn this f***er on Mobile too, then sayonara HF.

Have you noticed the inflation of tipping seems to also have manifested as we resume normality and go out to restaurants more now aftercare Covid panic is in the rear view mirror?

First you have to cope with foodvoroce and energy pricevinfkatuon which not only hits your home expenses but if you can still afford to dibevoutcatcrestauranrscitcseensctgevokd 15% tip has vanished of many restaurant tipping option buttons you can press on tge machine taking your credit or debit cards...Now more at morectge start minimum option is 18%...and I guess if service is very goid the 20%tip is in order...For exceptional service at high priced fibe dining restaurants you almost feel ashamed if you do not paycax25% tip?

The restaurants shoukdvpaycstaff a living wGexand remove tip options for a 1 set tip amount that is madatoryinclyded i tge final price.. so tgat menus shoukd be tge final prices per item ordered and only the tax is then calculated on top .

The restaurant shoukd take tge tip practice outvof the diners'respinsibility or "duty" to help the poor staff waiters serving your meal...

Yrs...the old method left discretion to tip based on good service only ...but the shame of restauramts not paying serving vlstaff high enough wages shouod be to their shame and not a guilt -ridden sense of duty the diners have to bear..

If tgecservicexstinks then the diners never go back tonthatvrestauramtvandcthevownersxquickly can fire unsatisfactory serving employeesxandcreplacecthemwith better serving staff to get customers back dining with them and returning again and again.

But this entireguiltvtrip on diners appealing to their empathy for the low paid servers and then the very high inflating tip option amounts lie now see, make the entire experience less enjoyable to what it shoukd have been.

Staff should be Expected to be trained well in helping diners get the best experience at the restaurant...it should not be a guilt trip of "these guys get low wages and need generous tips t tips to survive" ...The diner is shamed as the duty to help the lowly serving staff is transfered from the employer to the diner guests...

This is wrong... Also the stepped tip rate is wrong too.

No tip woukd be best if the restaurant had such policy and explained to diners that it Expects its much higher than industry wages it gives to its employees are Already accounted for and included in theborocevthe customer pays.

Otherwise this tipping inflation guiltboractice of such unusually hogh tipping requests /suggestions/ whatever will continuevinflating.

Deciding on whether to raise our children in the city or the suburbs only gets more difficult. Wifey and I can’t make up our mind.
Don't have kids. Was raised in a sheltered suburb. Wish I was raised in the city, but I, admittedly, don't have much perspective on any downsides.

Sitting on my patio, sipping IPAs, listening to a synthwave spotify playlist… I watched a big ol’ hawk circle for damn near an hour, and it couldnt have flapped its wings more than 3 or 4 times. Just catching warm up drafts to stay afloat, while it looks for mice smaller than the size of my palm from 20 stories up. Nature is crazy.

Suburbs are never a bad option. The City is so close, you can spend lots of time there. And cheaper like DHF said.

I'd recommend finding a school system you like and going with that. Unless you plan on moving when they reach school age.

Buuuuut, I don't have/want kids. So this is an inexperienced opinion.

That sounds really pleasant and peaceful. Cheers
