Not at all, I agree wholeheartedly that the philosophy behind it is what I want...but for ALL the kids, not just the one who looks like he's doing something. It's bunk to do this for Laf while burying Arty/Alex/Akil/Gabe/Rasmus and more.

And I don't have a problem with the org trying it either, but they haven't given me any reason to believe they would shift gears if it didn't work. The smug stubbornness has been a feature for years. I'd love to be wrong on either point but history says otherwise.

Arty, 188 NHL games, hasn't shown he can do the little things, but he's "buried"
Turcotte - Injuries
Akil - Injuries
Gabe - Played majority 2nd/3rd line, but was "buried"
Rasmus - in danger of not even being in the league....

Man, some of the irrational hatred for the organization is just...irrational.

No one can think these days, it's f***ing embarrassing.

They already ruined those other guys. Laf is up there for lack of better options. I don’t hate it, even if the results aren’t there, better to give those spots to someone who might still be in the league by the next time the Kings are contenders instead of the usual suspects. It’s ultimately moot anyway, we all know Byfield will be back in that spot and good old Lewis will be a 3C mainstay when all is said and done.

Not sure how they buried these guys . Rasmus was given the 3c at one point when Byfield got hurt I think, did nothing with it and was so bad they had to move him off of it. He's just not that good and will be a lifer at 4c or playing in the DEL or KHL. Gabe was always injured and still is, and was moved to the wing when it was obvious the center spot wasn't going to work. Once they moved him to the wing, and pp1 [?] is where he excelled. Arty is an enigma with a hard shot, and can't really do anything else well. Once he fell out of favor with the coaches, that was it. I do agree some guys are stuck behind others, and still scratch my head at Lewis still being on the team.

For what it’s worth, that hard shot of Arty’s also kinda turned into a dud this last season as well.

He quit converting on looks like he was in prior instances. One dimensional floating shooters who don’t score are gonna have a rough time on any roster.

I really hope he figures it out, but I don’t think the kid has the mettle.

It's because they weren't, it's just a bad talking point for irrational people, it's becoming a meme for people who can't think for themselves,

It's not Kaliyev's fault he doesn't do the little things, it's because they turned him into something he's not....rather than...he never was that something to begin with, and when teams figured out his shot, he became a worse version of Frk.

How is Caleb Jones looking and is there any chance he gets into regular action with the Kings this year? Is he the first option if someone goes down with injury?

Hoven spoke with Jesse on Twitter spaces today. Good conversation.

Hoven said look for some players to be sent down tomorrow: Woolley, Mania, George, Greentree.

Ziemmer's staying up and will be joining the Reign training camp.

No real surprises but wish we got to see a little more of Woolley, George, and Greentree, they showed very well.

The Stanley Cup

Clarke initially slotted into Tier 3C but was course-corrected into Tier 4A after one analyst argued for a slight downgrade. "Clarke is probably too high, he hasn’t developed as well as he could," the analyst said. "I think 4A players are comparable, he will be a solid top-four guy but I don’t see All-Star potential." I've always been a bigger believer in Clarke and his unconventional look and style than most around hockey, but his production has become hard to deny and this year should mark the start of his ascension to becoming a premier point-producing defenseman in the NHL.
That's a hilarious statement after Clarke put up a nearly historic season for his age in the AHL after putting up a nearly historic season in the OHL.

Spence looked like a young DD last night. I have a feeling he will emerge this year as a stud D.

Been impressed with Burroughs so far - he put up points in juniors.

Tony D’Angelo was out there…

About that guy:

On Feb. 1, 2021, Tony DeAngelo was abruptly waived by the New York Rangers following a 5-4 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was released from the team due to a brief altercation inside the tunnel leading to the team's locker room with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.

He's in Siberia now.
