Inside the ozone, parks up like an RV infront of the net, it doesn’t matter that we now only have 4 players to run a cycle or create, he’s just gonna stand there

Getting the zone, will always do the chip and chase, but fail miserably on the chase. He isn’t deceptive. Hyman and bunting and even nhl caliber players can side step or misdirect defenders. Mcmann picks a side and goes no matter what, it’s super easy for him to get pasted

In the dzone, a lot of skating but not a lot of doing

I guess he’s a good forechecker because he never stops skating, but Dryden hunt was good at that too…look where he was for us

Stack the top 6 and leave the bottom 6 with most of the new guys. Shouldn't have to ruin the entire lineup just to try and get 1 or 2 of our star players going. Also Dubas really dropped the ball not getting anything in return for Kerfoot because I honestly don't really see any value he adds to this team atm and with Knies coming it can just be even worse, especially since the 4th line has looked good even without Kerfoot.

When a "contender" is getting blown out, it's always interesting to see how they respond. Teams like Tampa, Boston get hostile and desperate because they feel like they're getting embarrassed. Tampa's always good for a temper tantrum or two from their stars.

Toronto just sits back shell shocked. No pulse or response. Imagine what a guy like Acciari is thinking lol.

Tampa must have had a lot of tantrums in the last little bit cause they are getting beat up a lot recently.

The lineup has been a complete mish mash since the TDL. Seems like Keefe has no idea what he's doing with the team since the new additions.

I get trying new stuff or tinkering but we need to really set the lines and build chemistry. Especially on defense.

Didn't think the game was terrible, just felt like every turnover and mistake we made in the game ended up in the back of the net. Thought we played well in first, deserved to be up more then 1 goal. Islanders took the momentum from scoring and ran with it in the second, and then one stupid play in the 3rd put the game away.

Would like to see the team start to ramp it up game by game heading into the playoffs.

Didn't watch tonight, but lately they've been nearly unwatchable.

Since the deadline they've been less than impressive.

I am all for the experimentation with the new guys added to the roster. I think we have seen enough of what doesn't work.

It's time to focus in on who the top 6 D are going to be, get them playing the final games together and build some chemistry.

Same for the forwards. Understanding ROR is out for another couple of weeks, just put a placeholder in there. Be it Lafferty, Kampf or Acciari, but play the wingers as they will be played come playoff time; let them build some chemistry.

It's been what, 10 games since the deadline? If it is not clear now, it never will be. So go with what you feel is best and let it roll.

Truly embarassing game. When fans are mocking your captain and you offer little resistance, well you deserve to lose. But, plenty of blame to go around
-too many giveaways and weak coverage defensively. another brutal game by Liljegren.
-forwards not engaged in the offensive zone. too many passengers. if Tavares can't get up for these games, sit him out. embarassing
-Samsonov was not very good
-another invisible game by Nylander
-McMann has to show he belongs up here, more effort required

However, I put the majority of the blame on Keefe. We've played like crap for about 10 games now. That coincides with the start of the experimenting by Keefe. If he can't take these games seriouisly, you can't blame the players if they're out of sorts. He needs to stop dicking around with the lineup and start solidifying a playoff lineup. Why in a game like this was Schenn not playing? You knew NY would play like this, they are nowhere near as talented as us. To not have Schenn out there in this kind of game you gotta wonder what is going on in Keefe's head. If we do not advance, his is the first ass I want kicked off this team.

as bad as the leafs have been lately the lighting have been worse. Both teams really struggling down the stretch. Won’t matter in the end as I expect it to be a tough series with Tampa.

thankfully no zamboni driver yet... but who knows... still 12 odd games to go with 8 away and 4 home. Expect the unexpected

Murray had his first somewhat decent start in months on Saturday. Had a chance to try and get him in a groove and give Sammy some time off to heal and spend time with the wife.

Keefe's goalie management sucks.

Maybe there are too many new players. With Engvall gone Kampf continues to lose his minutes. And because Gustafsson is here and a vet Keefe feels obligated to play him when the much better fit for this game against a physical grinding team like the Islanders was Schenn.

If Engvall is here maybe Kampf can be helped and get back on track given how well they played together. If it’s Sandin as Rielly insurance instead of Gus it’s easier to keep him benched to make the most optimal lineup possible. Yes Sandin has been poor defensively for Washington despite his offensive numbers and Engvall is nothing special, but man watching Keefe fumble with the lineup every game has me worried that too much has changed and the Leafs can’t get back to what they were previously.

This is a bad sign. Isles played playoff hockey tonight with the intensity level and the Leafs folded. But these are preseason games for us, so how much do we take away from this?

Regardless, loosing like that is brutal. IMO it's important to finish out the season strong. Play like that leaves much to be desired..

The games don't matter at this point, he most you can effect is one extra game at home vs the same opponent.

What a silly way to create complete apathy for about 1/3rd of a regular season, creating a playoff format which was never needed.

And Rielly needs to sit, I'm sick of watching him break out like hes a forward and play extremely weak in his own zone. Sit him for 3 games.

I love Rielly but I gotta be honest here.... when he was out injured Leafs were playing some of their best defensive game as a team. The quality chances against, shots against, etc... were all under control

but Rielly has also been our best playoff d-man so its freakin' difficult to foreshadow playoff performance of Mo
