Post-Game Talk: Another week, another embarrassing loss

I mean a keyboard warrior like me can see whats wrong with the team and the system; its frustrating to see leafs repeat the same crap every year and expect different results.

also we don't protect middle of the ice well its been 3 years of sheldon keefe hockey and its still teh same issues. people are gonna post the regular season results; i could have gotten the regular season results with matthews, marner, nylander on my team.

its the playoffs where coach's strategy and ability to adjust counts. I really fear cooper even with an inferior line up will beat the leafs. I mean CBJ did it and habs did it; whats to say bolts won't do it.

And everybody jabbering on about ‘home ice’, when we all know what’ll happen no matter who has it.

Game 1: Leafs, blowout
Game 2: Tampa
Game 3: Leafs
Game 4: Tampa, blowout
Game 5: Leafs (OT)
Game 6: Tampa (OT)
Game 7: Tampa, one goal game

Suspect officiating will be seen throughout benefitting both sides but roughly 70-30 Tampa.

Did Holl technically run a pick? Yes. Does it happen and go uncalled every single f***ing game? Also yes.

Letting the division winners pick their opponent is a better format than Bettman rubbing his hands at revenue ‘rivalries’.

Can’t make this up.

Dubas wanted to play figureskate hockey and he made Babcocks lines filled with 5’9 guys who don’t know what a check is.

Now Babcock is gone, he knows you need toughness in hockey so he brings in some real grit and heavyness to the team.

But now the coach is Keefe, and he’s way in over his head thinking it’s the AHL.

All of Matthews Era tainted by a rookie GM and his Hubris. And a rookie coach, who is a space cadet.

You can’t make this shit up.

7-2… all on turnovers basically.

4-1 Tampa sweep.

To be fair, the Leafs usually bounce back the next game or later in the week, as evidenced by the real lack of extended losing streaks the past couple of years.

But you're right that their in-game fight can be atrocious once things go sideways. They're not really a prideful group like a traditional hockey team. No bruised egos, no fight, no battle. They just pack it up and concede the ground like no big deal...

The games don't matter at this point, he most you can effect is one extra game at home vs the same opponent.

What a silly way to create complete apathy for about 1/3rd of a regular season, creating a playoff format which was never needed.

And Rielly needs to sit, I'm sick of watching him break out like hes a forward and play extremely weak in his own zone. Sit him for 3 games.

The team hasn't looked right since the TDL

We turned over a lot of the team so it's going to take some time for the boys to get a feel for the new guys there playing with and Keefe still doesn't look like he's sure on what sort of lineup will get the best out of the new players

We sucked but it's understandable, although Keefe needs to start settling on some combinations so we can build some chemistry

Here's hoping a good beating gets everybody's attention and we show up against Florida

In hindsight, this would have been a good week to give him the Luke Schenn treatment. Let him take care of the home front and any lingering issues and have a little Murray/Woll rotation.

As it stands though, if you get the start you need to compete. Brutal outing.

He's just saying that to deflect the fact he sucked.

He shouldn't have been playing. But he still sucked.

opposition gets the lead and then clogs neutral zone leafs play perimeter hockey
OR
Leafs play fancy BS and then opposition transitions with odd man rush and scores

people here blame goalies, defense and what not but Keefe always gets away scott free.

CBJ beat us like that, Has beat us like that; heck even bolts beat us like that.

Cooper's playoff pedigree, running his lines, coaching on the fly and ability to get his guys going is much higher; keefe doesn't have the galls or the brains.

Cooper recently benched Stamkos, Kucherov and Point because they were playing like absolute trash against the sabres. They sat entire 3rd period on the bench.

We could have had prime Gretzky and Keefe will find a way to galaxy brain the playoffs into losing the series
