I thought that the injury spelled the end for him - he‘s proving me wrong. Going to be a great Motte replacement and injury callup.

To me, his stint in the AHL 2 seasons ago revealed that he was going to be a NHL player

However, missing a full season is very hard to recover from and if he can do it, then we got a good one

Can't remember who it was from the org on the radio today, but they said angus will start in the AHL this season.

I'm happy to hear that, but it feels like kind of a dick move to announce that now before training camp even starts. Hopefully they've communicated that to Angus and told him what the expectations/timelines are for him.

With Covid then a knee injury this would seem to make sense.

I am the org has had a plan with him since early on in rehab so doubt he is upset at all.

People need to appreciate just how hard he had to work to bounce back from an ACL tear and reconstruct. I have been a two time loser in the torn ACL sweepstakes, and let me tell you that it is a long, tough road. You hit a wall at about the three month mark where you don't think your knee will ever be right again, and for some guys they never are able to get back to where they were before. Good for him for making it all the way back - a lot of the battle is psychological, and he got through it...

While that is true, you also aren't a professional athlete in peak physical form with world class trainers, and expensive medical drugs and equipment to help you get back into form.

Knowing ACL rehab, about the only thing he got that a regular joe like me didn't get is more frequent trips to the physio. Helpful? Sure, but the truth is that every time I saw the physio, she gave me a bunch of stuff to do at home. The key of course is to actually do what they tell you to do at home! No doubt Crookshank benefited somewhat from some extra ultrasound treatments, but at the end of the day most of the stuff they have you doing can be done at home or in any gym, and found on YouTube...

Well he would certainly have better care than a regular Joe and the attention to detail and extra time he could commit to it would help as well.

Being an elite athlete to begin with also helps.

I also tore my ACL and went through the rehab but no question he has a lot more resources.

I think there could be quite a good chance Crookshank plays on that 3rd line with Pinto and Joseph.

I'd be surprised. Not because of anything else than limited spots.

Motte clearly has the edge here and DJ is a big Kelly fan.

I think Crookshank definitely deserves a shot but I see that coming likely during the season if we have some injuries.

I think Crook is going to get into game shape/back into the swing of pro hockey in Belleville to start.

Makes sense to let him get his confidence back and give him a ton of minutes to get him back into the development of things.

He’s looked good, so I expect him to be a first call up for bottom 6 injuries.
