Dzingel was definitely feisty and was a sneaky good fighter. I think he was a lefty too so caught a few people off guard.

One big difference is timing though. Dzingel took 8 years to play a full NHL season and 9 before he scored 20 in a season.

This is Crookshank's 4th season so his development is far ahead of where Ryan was.
Dzingel was a much more productive player in college. Crookshank definitely needs time in the AHL. If you heard Mann talking today he fully expects him to be there all season. The player he talked about expecting to only play 35 games in the AHL this year was Kastelic. They look to be on very similar development paths assuming Crookshank has a good AHL season. They both played 3 years in college.

True about college but different leagues, different teams so maybe not easy to compare.

Crookshank certainly came in hot and had same pace in AHL as he did in college and if he puts up a big AHL season I will feel comfortable believing he can have a bigger impact that Dzingel (who was my dark horse after his 1st showing in the A so I like him a lot).

It's both D1, same level. I hope he becomes as good a player as Dzingel. Would be a great bonus to organizational depth.

I'd like to see the Sens plug him in for a taste sooner than later.
Big, big fan over here.

Has the speed and tenacity this group is all about now plus he has great offensive instincts.

That said, I he might be better off with consistent practices and loads of minutes in all situations for at least 1/2 season or so. If he can dominate in the AHL would bode well for him to jump in at NHL level and play with confidence.

Once Pinto gets a bigger taste, they'll throw crookshank on the other wing. Feel they didnt wanna overload the young guys at once. I predicted Crookshank was going to start on our 3rd line. He absolutely looks ready for bottom 6 role. Matter of time for him.

Would be nice to find a quality bottom 6 player out of all those late round picks. Crookshank looks like the best bet at this time. Hope he gets a better look than Smejkal got.
