I’m not going anywhere but I will keep my expectations for the team very mild. I think the team makes the playoffs and same as this post season expect a first round loss but hope and cheer for a win. If the management group pulls a surprise and does some major shake ups I’m all for it.

Willy wanted 8-9 leafs used pasta as a comp. he got pastas deal with cap inflation.
Your other point is bs and disingenuous, Kyle said he sees Willy as a leaf as long as he’s in charge, I mean why wouldn’t a GM want good players around?
not bullshit at all. of course GM's want good players around, but to do the "I promise" crap. isnt necessary. What GM does that?

Yep, he pretty much messed the whole thing up from start to finish. Live and learn I guess(we hope)

Leafs are my only team but I dont care to watch them next season. gotten to the point where I don't believe any changes will make a difference.
we keep getting better and better for Playoffs but the results are always the same. I kinda miss when we were rebuilding this 1st round exit crap is getting old pretty quickly

I would love to see your strategy to moving out Tavares if that day comes
Next time we play the Avs, get Kadri to take him out with a career-ending injury?

On board again? Keeping in mind noone is getting fired.
Tough but for me bold moves would help- a piece of the core moved to help balance things out better. An out of nowhere big goalie acquisition (don't ask me how), and a different mindset surrounding this team which comes from Shanny. Change the narrative to losing is not acceptable here. No pat on the backs for regular season success. Keefe should be nervous instead of comfy

Well, I watched 3 full games last year, 1 was live. Currently I see myself watching zero. I love the logo but don't like the culture, the mix of the group and think the coach is in over his head. The reality is I don't think Keefe is so much of an upgrade on Babcock as Dubas has gotten better defense & Marner & Matthews matured as players.

I might be more inclined to tune in again if significant changes were made but I doubt they happen.

I'll be here to the end for one of only two teams I'll ever care about, with or without Dubas or any of them. The final destination everyone wants is obviously a Cup, but the journey also matters to me.

Try the veal, it's the best in town!

Our journey to the SC is now 15 years longer than the Jews spent wandering the desert in search of the Promised Land. More veal and lots of it.

So what is it then? Keefe/Dubas neuter everyone? Nooone seems as physical or as tough when they come to the Leafs. Or just complacency and no pressure
Muzzin and Lybushkin both remained physical.
Looks like complacency to me but no one here can know for sure.

I really am starting to believe its the organization more than the players that don't like physical play. It goes back to Babcock and his "A stick check is as good as a body check" mantra that he blabbered on about. His "Have you heard of Lidstrom and his stick positioning? Not the biggest but he was the best" must have stuck with MLSE and they now downplay physical play so much that the players (top 6) see it as a negative. Same with slap shots. We always have a new guy (Muzzin, Gio) who use their clappers for a short while before the suddenly stop doing it because Babs said that they are harder to tip.

Carl Gunnarsson may have been our best example of what Babcock actually meant. A similar defensive style to Lidstrom (unfortunately without the offensive side): proper body position makes a stick check highly effective, and doesn't take you out of position the way a big body check can (Phaneuf's problem - I've nothing at all against body checks, beyond that).

The problem is with the poke checks that don't incorporate proper positioning, but are more of a "wave at the puck as the guy goes by" type, to which the Leafs are far too prone.

It just dawned on me that Justin Bieber becoming a fan of this team is actually one of the worst things that's ever happened to this fanbase...

Why couldn't he like the Habs instead?

...

Now to answer the OP's question, I'd also really like the Leafs to drop all affiliation with Justin Bieber and all of his teeny-bopper fans.

It's a real bad look on the organization and makes us look even more immature, soft, and lame than already-thought possible.
Ouch! As a Habs fan please don’t put that Pox on us! I implore you,Mercy please!!

I wonder if people would be happier if the Leafs had done what Florida is doing now:

Struggle through, but win in the first round
Get swept in the second round by a clearly superior team

Of course, that clearly superior team struggled mightily against the same Leafs and then went on to lose a few key players as well, so they're not anywhere near as strong as they were in the first round.

Just curious.
I see what you’re saying, but when is enough really enough? Look back at how the core group performed in the last game against Columbus 2 years ago, went. And last year against Montreal. And then for Keefe to talk about the respect or whatever during the handshakes with Tampa.
Look at the little if any cap space we have available, yet we don’t have a true #1 dman (and maybe not even a #2), no dman who can take a slapshot when we’re on the PP (and how the PP has struggled these last 2 years in the playoffs), our struggles to have an effective 2nd line (even though Dubas has committed to paying our 4 “core” forwards $40 million), is Campbell a legitimate #1 goalie (and if he is, will we be able to keep him), and lastly adequately filling our LW position.

Hopefully next year I can make ROI on my tickets from my seat licenses .. but I am worried .. these young kids have never seen inflation/interest rates and oncoming recession which has started .. but we should be ok as recession will hit bad in September and deals should be done in June when subscriber CCs get hit
