Except he hasn't been a 50-60 point player in his career, that's my point. He's .42 ppg over his career. Hopefully this season isn't an outlier. If he can maintain anything close to his current level of play, he's clearly an ideal 2c.
It's disingenuous to look at his career average. Players get better, generally, as they get older, and Copp is no different. Even not counting his games with the Rangers, he had 74 points in his last 111 games with Winnipeg. That's a .667 ppg, which equates to 54.67 points over 82 games.

If the Rangers re-sign him and he stays healthy, I think he'll have over 60 points next year playing with Panarin.

When not injured, and provided w/sufficient complementary Ws as I have preached, he demonstrates he is productive.
They looked like a much worse team w/o Chytil, Kakko + Copp. Yeah, I know some of it is the other 2, but don't sell my guy short.
On top of that he is a better physical specimen, bigger, stronger, harder to take off the puck, and cheaper.
This is not a guy you move. And he is at a position of need, pivot.
So 64 gp, 7g, 14a, 21 points is productive now? Ok.

I really like Copp. If the Canucks move on Miller, I hope they grab Copp as a replacement. He'd be a great fit and right in Miller's current price range on a long term deal. If they move Boeser, that's another reason to target Copp.

Copp a week or so before the TDL suffered a concussion. I think the sports networks mentioned it was his 4th. Leery of that after the Ferland contract.

Your attempt to distort what I actually said needs be called out.
I emphasized "when provided w/sufficient complementary Ws as I have preached, he demonstrates he is productive".
I have often noted the formula of a
driver of play + facilitator + finishing goal scorer
is one combo that works.
While when Gauthier played he = a driver of play, there was no ultimate solution as a scorer. When LaF joined the trio often outplayed opposing lines, but they also did not socre high, due to ongoing growing pains by LaF.
Chytil has better results with better players, Kakko over Gauthier, and top Fs to finish/snipe.

I have been calling for Vatrano to play with Chytil and Kakko/Gauthier depending on what else is going on.

And again, you silently ignore the facts I raised as to him playing a position of need, C, as well as him being cost controlled.

Gauthier is trash. One of the worst players in the league. He had one good stretch of like 5 games. I like Chytil but he's never been able to take the next step in his development. Im completely fine with him being gone next year.

Left the game appearing to re-injury his existing injury / came back too soon from the previous injury, got a new injury, or maybe saw Panarin leave the game and say "screw this, I ain't playing with Strome by myself..."
