Oh good...hopefully that means he will be in over those 2...even if it's only on the 4th line.

@Ola might correct me on this, but Sweden doesn't really have a designated 4th line with limited minutes for these type of tournaments. Sure, the closer games, they go for the favorable match ups, but they usually spread the talent across 4 lines

Can't wait to watch Kaut, get my hopes and evaluation up, only to have them crushed by the Rangers missing out on him. At least Pittsburgh doesn't have a 1st pick, pending trades.

Chytil makes the Czech team, not too surprising. It is a bit surprising they cut Zadina though

Yeah, can’t imagine this was an on ice decision? I didn’t see every minute of the Czech games this weekend, but when I watched Zadina stood out positively.

Insurance issues? Issues with the coach?

Could easily be he/his agent decided to pull out for other reasons. Avoid injury, prep for the combine, etc.

I really hope the Rangers get Kaut with one of their later 1sts. Going to be a good middle 6 two-way winger.

Umm Kaut over Zadina? Something more to this story. Has to be.
It's not even that Kaut made it over him its other guys like David Stastny and Roman Horak making it over him. He must have withdrew on his own for some reason

No politics at all. Zadina's talent is obvious but he wasn't really playing that well. The jump from junior hockey on small ice to international game at this level is huge. It's difficult to judge from TV but I thought he was looking tired and worn down after the long season.
Kaut is used to playing against men on big ice and unlike Zadina, he's the kind of player that can be effective on the 4th line while seeing no PP time. He was looking better at the pre-tournament games. Maybe not as talented as Zadina but definitely more pro-ready (physically stronger, better tactically, better in his own end).

To some extent I can understand the coach, if Zadina isn’t on a top 2 line or the PP unit, it might not make a lot of sense to play him.

Looking at who the Czechs have on their top 2 lines and power play id say that’s on the coach. How do you not put Zadina there and let him figure it out. Rest of the roster is garbage outside of Chytil and Kaut

This is absurd

What's absurd is that you think 18 years olds Zadina, Chytil and Kaut are (would be in Zadina's case) the best players on the Czech team.
