We see more combo deadline day deals these days, as teams look to keep the total number of assets (traded away) down, but a higher singular valued asset ends up getting moved, when they need to add multiple players.
There’s several candidates this year too.
Oleksiak/McCann
Ferraro/Wennberg
Laughton/Ristolainen
Soucy/Boeser
Andersson/Sharangovich
Schenn/O’Reilly
Byrum/Cozens
Jokiharju/Zucker
Gudas/Strome
I’m sure there’s others too. Not just a throw in like Max Jones today, but a real forward/dman combo, where the acquiring team will now offer up an asset they wouldn’t have in any singular deal. Whether that’s a higher valued prospect or higher draft pick.
I’m guessing we see at least 2 of these deals by Friday.
