Andersen decision looming for Leafs

I don't think he's checked out but I Thu k it's fairly clear both sides want a change after this year

October 2017 - 0.896 save %
October 2018 - 0.919 save %
October 2019 - 0.901 save%
January 2021 - 0.839 save % (*only 2 games)

Sure am getting tired of Freddy crapping the bed for a full month to start each season. He's had one good start (i.e. near his career numbers), three really bad ones, and so far is on pace for another really bad one.

But Dell isn't on the taxi squad and doesn't require waivers I thought. He's our 1 extra man on the active roster.

I'm not certain it's that though. I wouldn't want to play Andersen at all tonight after he played yesterday. By the same token, I wouldn't have wanted to play Campbell at all last night knowing he was slated to start this game. That said, it's obviously good to have a #3 of Dell's quality and experience. I expect he'll see a few starts at some point for one reason or another.

You really need a goalie to save one that he shouldn't once in a while. So far he's only saved easy ones with a few bad goals
(against Montreal).

Like I said, you must be a new fan. The only knock on him up until last year was his playoff performances. He was known for literally stealing most of our wins enroute to those PO seasons. We definitely don't make the playoffs at all without him those years. He had Vezina consideration at least once.

Andersen will be gone after this year anyways. We know it, Freddie knows it. Great chance to get a look tonight. Hope Campbell has starter ability, cuz we'll need one sooner than later

many don't care , it's always the goalies fault when we lose since it's easier to blame one person that come to the realization the team isn't as good aa they thought
 
Some media folks saying he's just getting a rest day. Which j can belive, probably good to just isolate himself from the outside noise ect

He made two great saves in OT that kept them alive. Interesting how some forget that.

re; not dressing - he played last night. If Keefe needs to pull Campbell, they won’t want to put Freddy back in. I think the b2b probably prevented him from going to Campbell last night, too.

They’ve got a 3rd goalie so they might as well use him.

I wouldn't read much into Dell being the backup tonight. They have 3 goalies on the roster. If Anderson is getting the game off, why even bother dressing him as the backup.
 
I've liked Anderson overall regular season play and not so much his playoff play since he's been here. Also, ask yourself this, how many times has Anderson stolen a game/series in the playoffs for us? Combine that with his game 7 performances and I was ready to move on after last year's loss to Columbus.

In this shortened season, we don't have much time to wait for the "real" Anderson to show up especially after his poor season last year. If Campbell and/or Dell can provide serious competition for half the cap hit then I'm all for moving forward with them or alternates.

December 2019: 0.904%
January 2020: 0.893%
February 2020: 0.884%

It wasn't just the start last year.
