I didn't think this kid would be an nhl player when I first saw him. He has improved a lot on his defensive game and just become a solid overall player. Not the greatest skater but he reminds me a bit of Tim Kerr on how effective he is in front of the net.

Nice to see Anders up there in rookie scoring. Currently tied with Josh Jooris of the Flames for fifth in goals.

His positioning makes up for it.

I don't think any other Islander uses their body more effectively than Lee, although I don't think any other Islander has a frame as good as Lee's either.

It's unbelievable that this guy was on the A because Cory Conacher HAD to play. I understand the logic that existed at the time but it's pretty evident - in hindsight - how silly it was.

The PP has been pretty bad lately. Why not plant Lee in front of the net on the first unit.

Yes, I've been thinking the same thing.

I think they should rotate around 8 players on the first unit giving it different looks. Aside from Tavares I don't think anyone should have a cemented spot on unit 1 at this point.

I see Anders Lee as a more fluid version of Mark Parrish, or God willing, Tim Kerr. I think he positions himself better than Parrish did, and he's got similar size to Kerr.

I don't know how Lee didn't get credit for Strome's goal against the Jets. And also, he makes deflections that form acute angles. His goal against the Capitals came on a shot that was ticketed for about 2 1/2 wide.

Really nice player!

To answer your question about the Strome goal: It was hit by a high stick off the Winnepeg player, then pinballed off of Lee's chest into Stromes side and in.

Kerr and parrish pretty good comparisons. Think Lee can reach Parrish's level but Kerr i don't think so.

Tim Kerr was one of my all-time favorite non Isles. Shame about his injuries and personal loss (wife passed while he was still playing). But he could score at a tremendous clip. Even for that day in age.

I too see similarities with Lee to Kerr physically but I doubt he could ever replicate his production. But I think we would all be happy if he scored as much as Parrish while still adding the dimension of solid corner work with his size.

CALGARY, Alberta - Anders Lee has a knack for scoring goals, that much is clear. He's up to nine in 31 games this season and 19 in 55 career NHL games to go with 25 in 59 career AHL games. But his AHL career is long gone now.

He's also proved to not just be a net-front garbageman, cleaning up whatever's left out on the ice for him. He has four goals in the past six games, including a key third-period goal in the Islanders' 5-2 win over the Jets in Winnipeg on Wednesday, and the last three have been the sort of skilled moves in tight around the net that few players could make....

Better than that, Lee is heating up. The last time he heated up he rattled off how many in 20 games?

Go lee go.

Should have been here, every game, from day 1.

Boychuk as well, his shot is too good not to have on the PP. Other teams have to respect it creating more space down low for the forwards. And Okposo probably shouldnt be taken off either

11 goals in 37 games. I realistically think he can hit 20 goals, which is awesome. Honestly, all 3 of the "kids" could potentially hit 20

Before the season I thought he had the potential to hit 30 this year. He won't do that but the potential is still there.

This guy is your future number 1 LW. He's the perfect compliment to JT and is a big game player.

I saw a stat, which was pretty random, but for players under 12:30 ave mins per game, Anders Lee is the leading goal scorer in the league.
