Drury did well here. Can’t believe teams are still helping the Rangers

GMs should honestly all agree under the table to not bail teams out of bad contracts. If I was a league GM I'd refuse to ever do it nor be part of any 3 way trade where it was happening

The Rangers biggest problem is they're relying on a 33 year old Panarin to put the team's offense completely on his back. They have the cap now to do something to try and fix it but will probably have to do something fairly desperate. Who is even going to be shopped around for this season? Claude Giroux? Taylor Hall? Mikael Granlund? The options aren't too overwhelming. More flexibility in the offseason, but that team's window is likely closing.

When you've made as much as he already has not sure if you have a choice of finishing the contract and being miserable or not able to play to the level you once were is worth it.
You think he’s going to give up 7-8 million dollars just so he can go back to NY and be with his wife? Are you crazy! That’s his choice obviously but definitely would be a dumb one.

So he vetoed trades to Columbus and Detroit but accepts trade to Anaheim, is staying close to his wife and toddler important to him or not? I am confused.
I'm sure she is heart broken that she couldn't go to Columbus or Detroit over Anaheim, how can Trouba be so inconsiderate :sarcasm:

Trouba is worth it if he's actually willing to be a leader in Anaheim. He's overpaid, but frankly it's not a bad contract for a team rebuilding.

However... it sounds like he was forced out of New York against his will. Not sure if this will go the way Verbeek is hoping.

The other thread got locked, but I'll repeat what I said there....

Trouba has to be furious, right? Wife is still a Dr in NY and that was one of the key reasons for the original move to NY? And they just had a baby earlier this year?
Residency will end in the Spring. It's just a few months.

They can afford some extra childcare help.
