I guess that means they don't care about the 1000 games.

If Fowler cared about the 1000 games he'd have waited until 1000 to request a trade. Maybe he requested a trade after 1000 games and we don't know about it. If he didn't then why should the team care about 1000 games if he requested a trade?

Its tough.. i almost feel like Zellweger should go down until deadline.... i dont think he should be missing playing opportunities in a rotation.

Mintyukov Dumo
Fowler Trouba
Lacombe Gudas
-Helleson rotating in
The stupidity of sending down Zellweger because Verbeek created a logjam with Fowler/Trouba/Dumolin would unfortunately track at this point.

Not really shocking at all.... fans put more into that idea that orgs do.

Fowler openly seems fine with being traded... which means he prob doesnt care much either.
Meh we have fans on here saying this organization was left a disaster by GMBM and Co. Free agents don’t want to come here because Verbeek is an idiot…. Etc ….. I don’t give a shit about 1,000 games, but if Fowler did, I think it would be in the interest of the organization to let the dude play the 12 or whatever games to get it. He doesn’t care, so ship his ass off asap if a decent deal is available.

I dunno if Fowler is "openly fine with being traded". When the GM asks you to scrub your NTC to increase more teams, then the GM already has made his intentions "openly known" with Fowler.

Trouba's return has nothing to do with Fowlers potential return. Different situations and backstories. All teams know we've been shopping Fowler and that both the player and team want to move on, but we're also not screaming "Take him or were going to waive him".

Probably not great that it was leaked that we tried to make Fowler part of the Trouba deal, but at the same time, everyone saw what NYR did with that cap savings, so its makes sense why they didnt want any chunk of salary in return.

I dont think we will get a crazy return for Fowler, but if we retain, which I fully expect, I still think we will do better than a 6/7 Dman and a 4th.

NYR wanted cap space over Fowler, but we're the ones throwing in draft picks. I guess we were the more desperate one in the trade.

I’m not taking this trade very well. Not because of the player itself, have hope he can bounce back in a less toxic atmosphere.

This is more about the toxicity of NY and its fans that really is upsetting me. Then they sign Igor to that ridiculous contract and fans are like yay! Did you even learn??

You have no idea how the NY media made him out to be the bad guy, blaming his wife and whatnot. Then you add the toxicity of Rangers fans . I lost it when they traded Callahan several years ago , literally stopped watching and didn’t care they were in the SCF that year. He was actually still good and was a heart and soul player.

Players and their agents fight hard for those NTC/NMC, and what Drury did , which may have been unethical, was still legal and following the rules. I’m willing to think the CBA is going to try and change things around. After that happened with Goodrow and now Trouba.

Between the Ridiculous prices to see a game , petty and entitled fans , I’m growing tired of it.
Echoing this as an NYR fan.

Bottom line is Trouba is a solid defensive defenseman and he’s committed to his team. It’s hard to keep bleeding for an organization that clearly wants you out, though, despite all you’ve done in the past for them. Ultimately, our organization made a financially motivated decision personal, which is pretty low. Drury is simply a lousy GM and a lousy person.

So am I happy to have Trouba off NYR? I’m happy to have this disengaged version off the team, sure, but that’s Drury’s doing. He solved the problem he created and is being portrayed as a genius. So while it’s nice to no longer have an $8MM 7th defenseman, I fully expect him to rebound into a top-four leader.
