I'm so in. Wanted Trouba last offseason. My hot take: He rebounds to become a solid contributor and we're pleasantly surprised.
There are plenty of good NYR fans. The issue is that they’re a huge, old fan base, from a city that for some reason I’ve never understood thinks is the pinnacle of human civilization where everyone wants to live. There are exponentially more of them, and thus there are exponentially more of the bad apples who drown out all the good ones. Mix in the east coast brash culture, a splash of Internet anonymity, and here we are.I'm just gonna drop by and say that the Rangers fans in most, if not all, forums, message boards, comments sections etc. are almost as much insufferable c u next tuesdays as the Flyers fans. What a vile and flagrant bunch.
I mean, he waived his NTC for the Ducks, so the issue of him being thrilled to be here is less of a consideration than with any other trade for a player without such a clause. Also, skepticism should have a bit of a basis - there’s lots of Rangers players (Quick, Miller, Zibanejad, at least) who were very vocal about his leadership, if you don’t want to take the GMs word for it, which is fair.My only issue with this trade is if the locker room is already awful, bringing in someone who frankly doesn’t seem that thrilled to be here might make the locker room issues even worse.
Im pretty skeptical of all the talk about him being a great leader even if he wore the C in NY.
And he wants to be here because his friends are here too (Strome and Vatrano).I mean, he waived his NTC for the Ducks, so the issue of him being thrilled to be here is less of a consideration than with any other trade for a player without such a clause. I get that, and we also have @Leonardo87 over here as well, who seems to be one of the good guys. But f*** me sideways, a huge chunk of their fan base online is one whiny bunch. There are plenty of good NYR fans. Oh yeah. The ones that ruin it for everyone go to 11.I get that, and we also have @Leonardo87 over here as well, who seems to be one of the good guys. But f*** me sideways, a huge chunk of their fan base online is one whiny bunch.
He also said he got to a place where he was excited to come here. He didn’t like how this was forced on him but it doesn’t seem like he’s aiming any bitterness our way. I mean if you take away his answers to the questions he gets about how it ended in NY, then he’s making pretty anodyne comments about a new start etc.I mean, he waived his NTC for the Ducks, so the issue of him being thrilled to be here is less of a consideration than with any other trade for a player without such a clause. January 28th is where I want him to do something.I just wanna see him lay out one of the kings players. Lol
Minty or zell is my guessany news on who he's paired up with?
any news on who he's paired up with?
I’m going out on the limb and saying there’s no way that he gets put with lacombeStated that they were unsure who he'd play with but said he'd fit with our young left handed D, so that's any of Mintyukov, Zellweger or Lacombe. Although the most likely candidate to be sent down seems to be Helleson (was the most recent call up anyway), but he's been playing with Dumoulin.
I wish we had a beat writer travel with the team but I don't see anyone posting notes from today's practice.
Yeah I doubt anyone will be on this trip. We’ll prob be in the dark until lineups are posted right before each game.Stated that they were unsure who he'd play with but said he'd fit with our young left handed D, so that's any of Mintyukov, Zellweger or Lacombe. Its tough.. i almost feel like Zellweger should go down until deadline.... i dont think he should be missing playing opportunities in a rotation.Stated that they were unsure who he'd play with but said he'd fit with our young left handed D, so that's any of Mintyukov, Zellweger or Lacombe.
