Waiving Stoner works, but personally I'd waive Bernier to make the Cap space. This should be the first option.....Bernier = Meh.

We have enough room with Etem, Tokarski and a Dman sent down.

So Murray pulled the move that I was suggesting last week? Put Despres on LTIR and then move some cheap contracts around to get Lindholm signed? I was told that was fraud and the Ducks would never do that. :sarcasm:

Feels weird that he is earning only about $200K more than Vatanen and less than Jones and Risto. Also this makes the Ekblad contract look even more ridiculous.

Ugh so many different fans of different teams thought they should do it. Sabres,Jets,Devils,Canes, Kings, Leafs. Tons of posts about people OS our RFAs to screw us over. It's just funny how we were told that if we didn't get Lindholm sign soon it was bound to happen.

They virtually never happen, almost pointless rule IMO in the CA. Not realistic

Congrats on deal!

Just picked him up in Fantasy, hopefully he'll be ready for Anaheim's game tomorrow.

he's not exactly a fantasy player to be overly excited about unless they move out fowler or vatanen, and he's still overseas, isn't he? not likely to play tomorrow and will need a few practices first?

Congrats Ducks fans. Murray lucked out with Lindholm caving and Despres going on LTIR, but that is one hell of a deal. And look at the upside here! Now you can trade for Jacob Trouba :D

Best part of this deal is that certain jet fans can finally stop with the "this is why you should trade Lindholm for Trouba" logic.

As we said all along, that did/does nothing for Anaheim.

What is the penalty for him signing so late? IIRC there was something about 30k per day being tacked onto his AAV for this season?

I've been trying to tell people that our cap situation wasn't nearly as dire as what they were making it out to be.

Believe they are currently about ~1.5 million over the cap.

Capfriendly shows them at a shade over 1.4 mil over the cap. All they have to do is send down Theodore and either Tokarski depending on Bernier's health or Etem if he clears waivers.

Holy cow what a good deal for Anaheim.

Wonder how Lindholm feels about his agent right now. "I know it'll cost you part of your season and put you in an uncomfortable situation, but the money will be huuuuuuge..."

Florida bought 4 UFA years with Ekblad. Anaheim only bought 2 UFA years with this deal.

Big difference in how contracts are valuated.
