I'm pretty sure that Dubas has said he can't see moving Knies or the 1st for a rental. Whether he would consider a Meier a rental or not is the question. If they think they can resign him or that they can trade his RFA rights at the draft, they might be willing to move those pieces. If I understood right from the threads in this forum, the TML showed "significant" interest in Meier but are not willing to move Knies or the first rounder.
Am I missing something here?
As I remember it, Sharks have primarily used Timo as LW but he played RW in juniors. Looks like he played LW on Hischier's line at the World Championships last year.
Timo can play both wings
Holtz has almost identical production to Robertson in the AHL and NHL. I think I'd prefer Knies.I dont see a path without Knies. Hes already a step down from a guy like Holtz so the add is real on top of that.
1st, Holtz, Casey, and Sharangovich.
Some don’t seem aware of such things. Not sure why some Devils fans are scoffing at that. Of course it would hurt to give up Casey…he is looking like he has the ability to be a special player, but with Hughes and Nemec clearly way higher up on the depth chart, and then Muk coming over to NA next year too; Marino, Hamilton, and Siegenthaler are also signed long term…where does that leave Casey?
Yeah and Nylander is playing spectacular this season. Best I’ve ever seen him play and surprisingly well rounded.Yeah with the Nylander renewal coming up, it doesn't work.
The leafs bottom 6 is pretty weak. Doubling down to add to your top 6 when the team is already extremely cap heavy with the big 4 forwards makes no sense. A big shutdown D-man and some help in the bottom 6 is what the team needs.
Unless it's a major shake up and some money is going out the door like Rielly, Timo would probably mean the end of Nylander in Toronto.
If the bidding is out of control, this is how I think the return looks as opposed to including mercer / Nemec.1st, Holtz, Casey, and Sharangovich.

Meier plays with one hockey stick in each arm but the NHL rules count that as him being two players, so, short answer, yes, at once.If the bidding is out of control, this is how I think the return looks as opposed to including mercer / Nemec.
I think nj probably gets something else back (a random bottom six type maybe) to even out contracts and whatnot
At once? Or just in general? Important distinction because I'm paying way more if he can play them both at once.
I honestly haven’t noticed a weak side, no, he excels no matter where he is, really. Slap a goalie mask on him and he’ll be our starter, probably.I wish NHL.com would list that instead of just saying "RW"
@Jargon so no noticeably weaker side or times where you were like "if only he was on ___ side that would have been a tap in"?
Not at all. NJ and Car can extend him, have far better prospect pool, and have been engaged for a while.Basically torontos to lose if Dubas is willing to do knies and a 1st
Yup lol. They won't be competitive with anyone in the Atlantic or Carolina when it comes to playoff time.Watching this Devils game, holy f*** you guys need Meier bad lol no finish from any one other than Hughes, shooting it wide/right at shins
So becuse we have assets we just overpay? Shara Holtz Casey and a first is too much. We have a good 7-8 years as a top team and would be nice to use those assets other years as well. Not sure why some Devils fans are scoffing at that. They are around league average in shooting percentage. 8 in goals for, 6th in goals for per game.Watching this Devils game, holy f*** you guys need Meier bad lol no finish from any one other than Hughes, shooting it wide/right at shins
Weird considering they have a winning record against the Atlantic and are 1-1-1 vs carolinaYup lol. They won't be competitive with anyone in the Atlantic or Carolina when it comes to playoff time.

It could get better, but it's certainly not bad
Agreed. It concerns me how much Hughes is driving itJack Hughes has a significant role in that for sure, the point is aside from him it looks like there’s no finish on this team. Meier would change the entire picture though.
