Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but anyone at the game last night, can you explain this whole "staple" line of merchandise? What am I missing? Why would I want a Rangers shirt/hat with "Staple" written across it or a picture of a pigeon?

Another victim of the Staple barrage.

Basically, this is some New York based designer who they've collaborated with to do a line of Rangers stuff. Not a fan of his style, so probably wouldn't be interested in any of this stuff anyway, but I thought it's sort of ridiculous to make the Staple name prominent in place of the traditional Rangers. At the level they're advertising the collaboration, I'm wondering if it's not selling as they expected.

the Reverse Retro jerseys won’t come back to shop right? I’d have to get one second hand off eBay or something?

Damn they are expensive

What, you are not an Art Staple fan!?!?!?

I'm wondering how many fans actually knew who was before this wild advertising spree. His style doesn't exactly seem to jibe with your average hockey fan, but what do I know. Maybe they're trying to expand their appeal to the hipster community or whoever wears this kind of stuff. But they've really gone overboard. I mean to each their own, if you like it, you like it and should buy it, but like, don't try to force it down our throats.

Considering how much it was hyped up I don't think MSG envisioned inventory lasting through yesterdays game. Not to mention they have a good amount of it for sale in the chase square store now not just the ones inside the gates.

I had to look it up. When I hear "Staple" with anything hockey related, the first thing I think of is the Athletic writer.

It's a collaboration. I have no idea if it will sell well or not. Heavily advertised for sure.

I feel like hockey fans are super blue collar or white collar. Not that surprising that a streetwear collaboration isn't selling well..

It's not my thing but I understand they want to appeal to a younger audience.

The Leafs did it with an actual jersey, while the Rangers stick to hoodies and hats. Seems like a safe bet as it doesn't upset the older fans too much.

I love the stuff '47 does but feel it's a lot different from the Staple line. I certainly have no problem with them trying different things to attract new fans to the game. The issue I had with it is on some of the pieces where "Rangers" should have been, instead it said "Staple." This kinda reminded me of like knockoff things I used to see that would have like a liberty logo or something, without anything referencing Rangers. Some kind of Canal Street effort to avoid criminal prosecution due to copyright infringement.

The '47 stuff is nice but $$.
I agree they can get pricey. But on the bright side, at least they’re not as expensive as Mitchell Ness stuff.

IMO, Sometimes some ‘47 Brand hoodies actually look nicer than some team’s official jerseys.

I like these designs over the SEA’s current
The anchor logo on the yoke is a nice touch.

How huge is a size 56?

I'm 5'10, 160. There's a beautfiul Jagr jersey I'm looking at but want to make sure it won't look ridiculous if I wear it.

I’m 5’10 195 and I wear a 50 with a hoodie under

I still remember a time in the ‘90s when seeing hockey jerseys being worn in music videos by bands like Goldfinger or rappers like Snoop Dogg was on the airwaves and Kevin Smith movies made it seem like normal casual wear.

I feel kids and youth usually like to “discover” fashion on their own rather than being advertised to wear it. If it happens, let it happen organically. Heck, anyone remember when NASCAR team jackets were popular streetwear for a minute?

I see a ton of people wearing Caps jerseys casually around the DMV area and rarely ever see it in NY. It's especially popular during winter time. Honestly, I usually only ever wear jerseys on game day, but living here has made me think of wearing them more often when I go out to do things.

Yea, I think that's the sweet spot for me. I passed on this one because of that. It's exactly what I'm looking for and sucks the size is off. Been looking for about 3 months now to see if either a Jagr authentic pops up or an authentic blank that I can send to AW. Kinda sucks, but I figure it's worth the wait to get exactly what I want.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for you. I was going to DM you a Jagr Liberty, but it wasn’t authentic. Be patient. It’ll pop up when you’re least expecting it. But, in case I come across one, I’ll send it your way!

Thank you! Not going to lie, it's hard to be patient. I'm actually moving back to the tri-state in May, so I'm going to be hounding the thrift & garage sales unless I see something pop up before then. Ultimately, I know I'd rather have as close to the real thing than drop $100+ on something imperfect.

I found a Koho blue Eric Lindros jersey with tags fully stitched replica at a thrift store for $10 a few years ago.

Looking for thoughts on these two links. They're cheaper replicas I'm considering while I continue my search for a true authentic that fits my size. The Koho looks like the #'s are spaced way too far apart. Is it just me?

The CCM looks like an OK replica. But am I correct that before we switched to the reebok's Jagr only wore a white CCM while he was here, and the blues were branded as Koho?

More photos if you click to the right.

You’re right on both. The 6 and 8 look a smidge too far apart. Shame, because other than that, it looks like the lettering is pretty good.

The blue one just looks like someone got a CCM version customized with JAGR. Also, someone else please confirm, but I am fairly certain Rangers jerseys did not have nameplates until the Reebok era. I believe each letter on the name were sewn directly on the jerseys back then.
