Yeah, I did a breakdown in this thread with the jerseys I have, MiC vs retail. I just don't own any Fanatics branded jerseys since they're terrible

The MiC vs retail really isn't bad at all and probably only real enthusiasts would catch the difference. It's honestly a shame what Fanatics is even doing. I feel like it really degrades what should qualify as a jersey and especially at their price point is highway robbery.

It's basically a shirsey with embroinded logos

I might list a bunch of authentic here in the future. Honestly, since I moved to Florida I never wear any of them and I think I have at least 20 jerseys. I'll keep a few but overall I don't see the point anymore lol. I'll use the $ to buy Rangers T-Shirts. ;)

Any CCM 550 style jerseys in your collection?

The tease before the release. This is worse than the Staple collection buildup!

It’s a class action lawsuit so there will just be a settlement fund and anyone who makes a claim will get $5 or some shit from this. That’s how these usually go.

Yea, in this type of situation I think the bigger thing is that they'll no longer be able to market them as authentics and will have to be shown as clear replicas. Which is as it should be. As I said earlier, they've degraded the whole concept of jerseys by marketing their trash shirseys as actual jerseys.

For anyone who dropped a dime on these (I pray you did not unless you got it for like 20 bucks at a thrift shop), I wouldn't count on getting much, if anything back and it'll likely be months, if not years, before that happens.

$50 at Dicks before I knew the fraud?

I think the retail is $150 on the NHL website, so that's not bad. I wouldn't count on getting money back if that's what you're asking.

As for the "jersey itself, obviously, it's a personal style choice, so I'm not here to tell people what to wear. As I mentioned, the worst part about these is that they cost $150 which isn't out of the ballpark for getting a real replica or even blank MiC and so that's why it feels like a borderline scam. To me it's as effectively the same buying a fake Rolex on canal street but rather than it costing $100 it costs the same as a real Rolex.

For me, these are just a degradation to a classic piece of the game. Hockey is special because we have unique traditions. Jerseys, like the Stanley cup, should be sacred. I get we have replicas and things like that, but Fanatics shouldn't be allowed to call their shirseys, jerseys, let alone marketing them as authentic. Next thing you know, they're gonna start sponsoring the names on the cup. It'll say 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning sponsored by Nike.

Anyone know what the deal is with these Gretzky jerseys? After I saw this pop up I tried researching it and it seems that during Gretz's last season they sold these sort of final season replica jerseys. From what I can see from photos of that season, it does match how it looked like on-ice but would love some more insight if any has some.

Well, the price is the first giveaway. The fightstrap is sloppy, the set 2 patch is poor quality. I have a hard time believing this is an authentic jersey.

I disagree, when you have them side by side the difference in quality and fit is tremendous. Personally i think its the largest gap between replica and authentic jerseys of the same style.

Yeah, I agree. I have had them side by side and the photos don't do it justice how big the differences are. The fabric is night and day.

I'm less curious about the quality of the authenticity and more about the history behind their issuance. It looks almost as if it was sold as a souvenir specifically for Wayne's last season. The set 2 patch was kind of interesting and I'd never come across something like that before. I'm wondering if these were replicas sold by the team as some kind of commemorative souvenir.

The fact that it has a Set 2 patch makes me very suspicious about it being a knock off.
