Two reasons for Connolly not on the ice, and both are likely at this point.

He could be traded because, its that time that roster spots might need to be made.

He could be injured, because well, its ****ing Tim Connolly.

Looks like Tim Connolly might have been waived. Not on ice today.

I don't think anybody deserves a maintenance day besides Kessel, Lupul, Grabovski and Phaneuf, especially during a shortened training camp.

Grabovski and Kulemin have already played 29 and 36 games respectively this year.

Kulemin leaving while in 7th. spot in scoring and 1st. in plus/minus in KHL.

Of the NHL players, they'd be the only forwards that would deserve a maintenance day.

We do know Connolly is made of glass. But apparently he was absolutely awful in camp yesterday.

I don't think they'd waive him.

He'd have value around the league, especially if the Leafs picked up some salary. He's earning 4 million this year (which will be pro-rated) so he isn't a tough sell.

Fair enough. I was going to include Kulemin but I suspected Carlyle is looking into whether he or JVR should be placed on the 2nd line.

At this point it seems like a no brainer though. He's already in midseason form and has been one of the best looking players at camp thus far.

(if Connolly gets waived)

Anyone think they may just do the buyout? We only need it for Komisarek, and Connolly will be on the cap in the minors anyway
