Don't be surprised if Ben Scrivens gets the nod for Toronto on opening night against Montreal.
James Reimer has shown some rustiness at Leafs' training camp, even though he could pull it together when the team splits for scrimmages. Still, Scrivens has remained active during the lockout in the AHL, with the Marlies, where he has been among the league's top keepers. He has picked up his game after a slow start with six wins in his past seven starts, along with a shutout, a 1.71 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. Scrivens' confidence and his game shape are high right now and that could give him an advantage over Reimer to start the season, but both are expected to see their fair share of starts if Toronto cannot find an upgrade in the trade market.
