didn't realize kuemper played for LA in 17-18. LA seems to rate v good defensively, i think it's possible he could be an upgrade over Talbot :dunno:. in the end i think LA just wanted to get rid of PLD and alleviate themselves of paying him 8.5m over the next 7 years.

Maybe we can send Iafallo there.

He's been pretty inconsistent and is now approaching 35 YO.
still in his prime then

Just stupid trades going on so why not another
brings closure to the 2017 draft. we get Laine and everything of value from ensuing trades. maybe we could send Stanley to the Caps to pick up some salary retention.

Laine for Vilardi, Iaffalo, Kupari, 2nd rounder and Laine (25% retained)

Chychrun - Frost??

Rumours I have seen for Philly have been around Atkinson and Konecny.

UFA season is just about to start. Especially this year with the big cap jump better to over price with 1 team and see what the other 31 teams have to offer come July 1.

GM’s that have been up against a flat cap can get back to overspending like Drunken Sailor’s

Is Markstrom overrated or is it just me. Curious to see the return though

Yes he is overrated.

On Calgary SN broadcast they continually called Markstrom a top 3 goalie in the league, both Ball and Hrudey or Millen and especially the intermission panel would talk him up all thru the year. He is not even a top 10 goalie in the league never has been. On a side note Rick Ball has left SN to do the Blackhawks games this upcoming season.

That's a better exit for LAK than the buyout.
Kuemper might bounceback. It could happen.
Not sure what Caps think they are doing. Hoping for a rebound from PLD?
Grasping at straws. Just like the Pens last off season acquiring Karlsson, they are a fading team with a fading HOF player hoping against hope to stay relevant.

Is there anyone that works for SN that isn’t an idiot??

depends on if the series ends in six or 7, if it ends in six then it's 1/3rd if it goes to 7 then it's 2/3rds

Very interesting observation. If PLD makes it until June 24, 2024 (his 26th B-Day) his buyout money goes from $27,333,333 to $43,166,667 and the cost to LA would have doubled. The Oilers just might have thrown a wrench into LA's plans to buy him out so they sought out a trade.

It's interesting how GMs have lost patience and have starting to make significant moves during the Stanley Cup finals. Everything was quite but with the Oilers extending things maybe another 6 days after yesterday, they don't seem to want to wait any longer to pull the trigger on moves.

The finals is going stupid late this year. There is essentially a week and a half until FA starts. If the league didn't want this, they should have scheduled better. Teams are running out of time to make deals.

Landing Chychrun or Chabot would be pretty huge for our D core

I want Chabot to anchor the second pairing.
