Keeping in mind that Flames need young D and that Andersson is under contract for 2 seasons after this one and then becomes a UFA I think I'll give it a shot.

High 2nd to start, add Ville, Chibrikov, Kuzmin, Rashevsky. That's 5 pieces that all have value. Obviously not all top prospects. There are a couple of long shots there. But the first 3 are all pretty good. Not quite in that can't refuse range I'm looking for, but is it enough? Add Lucius?

Monahan is a UFA at season end correct?
He has been great and performed well IMO.
If re-signing him meant moving on from Connor or Ehlers.
I think I would do that. (Be gentle)

Monahan has not been anywhere near that good. He has helped our PP. He has scored some goals. He has not made the 2nd line effective at 2C. He has 1 A.

OK, in part. Doesn't change the fact that he has not elevated that line.

He has been very good on ST and at FO but I don't see how that makes him the solution at 2C. Needs more. Not saying he won't be but the jury is still out AFAIC.
