Barron is a lot better than Chisholm is, and he is a RHD with good size. I definitely be interested him, but Lambert might be just a touch too far.
The other day it was reported that the Flames were holding out for a 1st, but there were no takers so far. The Habs 2nd is as close to a 1st as can be expected from a TDL buyer.
He is a couple years younger than Chisholm, has close to a 100 games in the NHL and his actual value is closer to Lambert, though I wouldn't go that far, than for free as a waiver wire pickup. He has much better size and is a RHD over a LHD.
I don’t think any of that proves Barron is better than Chisholm.
I e watched both play - I think Chisholm is the better player. Sadly we can’t compare in real time between the two as Barron got demoted to the AHL over a month ago.
Chisholm has been playing 20+ minutes and producing points for the Wild. Will be interesting to watch as the sample size increases and to see how he’s used once wild dmen come back from injury. He’s clearly a step up on Bogosian.

Trade value doesn’t equal skill level. East to confuse the two though.
You can like Chisholm all you want, but their isn't a GM in the league who would take him over Barron. I'd love to circle back with Barron as a Jet, to really bring it home.
With Perfection struggling to produce anything it is interesting to see Winnipeg native Seth Jarvis thriving in Carolina.
I'd bet that one of the playoff contenders bites the bullet and offers up a late 1st for Tanev, but if not I don't mind the Jets giving up the Habs' 2nd. He would certainly be a big improvement to the overall defense, while giving the Jets good depth. I might prefer a younger D like Carrier though, especially if the Jets could extend the contract beyond this season.

Half that room also wants out and the other half is stuck there with untradeable contracts, so I'm not sure that it matters lol

I'm assuming it would be MTL 2nd, which isour defacto 1st. Not HUGE value, but I'm not sold on Tanev at this point
I'm assuming Chevy shares my view since that pick will be higher than the Dallas one by
20 spots. If it were in the table, Tanev would probably be a Jet right now
He'll add a RHD... Walker is my guess

Atleast it puts a ceiling on price for guys like Walker/Seeler.
Tanev would've been a good fit here. Really hope we can land another good D esp if the price for a top-4 guy like Tanev was so low. I was willing offer Habs 2nd + Rashevsky... which is way better than what Calgary ended up getting. Not sure why they didn't just wait till the deadline.
