It appears that Rasmus Andersson might be available from Calgary. He is 27 year old big right D with some scoring ability. I would suggest we offer Schmidt (Wpg retains 1.4 million of salary), Heinola and Montreal's second round pick for him (may need to offer next years first instead).
Lambert and Montreal's 2nd is a lot closer.

He would be an excellent add, but that price is going to be steep....

There’s no urgency for the Flames to deal Andersson, but if they were Lambert would most definitely be included in the deal.

Anderson would cost a LOT more. They'd ask for McGrorty...we'd say no and would end around Lambert+Heinola +mtl 2nd +2025 1st + Iaffalo or Kupari (cap reason)

Top RHD with extra year and only 4.5 M is going to cost any team that wants him

We picked Harkins instead of andersson... who knew...

Gone from under to overpayment on here - not sure we have the right assets for calgary though...

2025 1st, 2024 montreal second, Stanley or kupari maybe gets it done

is Andersson in the same tier or level of player as chychrun?

a year ago 25 year old (traded in the month of his bday) Chychrun/LHD with 2x4.6m remaining went for a 1st (12th overall)+2 2nds ('24 and '26)

Andersson 27 years old, RHD, 2x4.6m remaining

Coyotes are in free fall. It appears the never ending arena fiasco is affecting the players. I could see them doing something BIG.

Clayton Keller anyone?
I think Schmaltz seems like a more likely option. Beyond everything else, his actual salary escalates to 8.45M and 8.5M over the next two seasons (cap hit 5.85M). Yotes are really cash-strapped, I think. Jets could use another right shot F with skill and speed. Cost would be high, though, and they'd need to create cap space in the next couple of seasons.

People won’t like it, but im coming around to the idea of picking up another RH forward and running him with Perfetti and Monahan, then putting Ehlers with Barron and Namestnikov.

At this point it feels like Ehlers is the difference between the top line being above water or not, so it's pretty hard imo to justify another use for him, especially when that other use would involve him playing 13 minutes instead of 18...

Ha, I have been thinking about BNE as a line. Ehlers and Namestnikov have been great when on a line together, and Barron deserves more opportunity. Just make sure to give them plenty icetime.

He's dropping back to the 2nd line, so there goes being above water.

Don't see any chance of the Jets trading LB. He allows us to rest Helly down the stretch and enter the playoffs with Helly fresh for a change, rather than having to ride him hard. A fresh Vezina Helly is our most important ingredient for playoff success. Helly and LB are also tight, and keeping Helly in optimal head space also adds to the picture.

Andersson will not only be pricey but Calgary wants NHL players for their lineup next year back

Similar situation to us dealing Dubois, really.

Unless it is an opportunity to offload Schmidt deal without having to pay up to do so, the salary add and the assets needed would be a big hit to our depth.

I don't see us as a great fit for what they want.

That's a really good comparison. I would think that Chychrun is a bit more highly rated, but Anderson is a righty. Would be good protection against Dillon and or Demelo leaving in the summer.

I'm probably alone, but I'd part with Lambert if it came to that. They also might be interested in Iafallo, if they want players coming back, whom could be a cap casualty for us in the summer otherwise.

Schmaltz has a 10 team NTC.

I’d agree with giving up Lambert for a top pairing guy for 3 playoff runs. If JoMo ever goes down, we would be dicked. Getting a guy like him would really bolster our D.
Something along the lines of,

Lambert
25’ 1st lotto protected
Schmidt
Rashevsky for taking Schmidt

I would think that’s in the ballpark.

JoMo/DeMelo
Snerg/Anderson
Dillon/Pionk
Heinola
Stanley

Seems well balanced and deep

Lots of folks content to include Lambert in deals for this deadline. Count me out, that guy along with Rutger are untouchables. Whether I’m right or wrong, wont know until after whatever happens and a career is carved out but Lambert has a lot of something we don’t have. Hold on to him.

Not sure what you mean by lotto protected as with the current rules a team could still have the 1st overall pick and have lost the draft lottery? I’m guessing you mean something along the lines of top 10 protected?
