If I were Chevy, I'd really try hard to make a deal for Mittelstadt. If the deal was right, I think Buffalo would trade him, if the trade facilitated their needs. I think Buffalo would want a defenseman, and a Goalie, and one of our top prospects. Mittelstadt is a "perfect"fit for the Jets.

I think they may accept Brossoit, Lambert and Stanley to get the deal done, and I'd make that deal if I was Chevy. Mittelstadt is "proven" and the others are not, except for Brossoit.

I'd do that in a heartbeat, but it is missing the one bigger piece that Buf would want. Brossoit is a backup and Lambert is a very much unproven prospect. Neither can be the main piece.

They have zero need of Lambert. Go look at their forward prospect pool and the amount of young forwards on their roster.

We are a very poor fit in terms of trade partners. They already have what we'd be willing to offer.

If the Jets are keen on Mittelstadt, they might need to put Salomonsson on the table.

I think it would be so Buffalo to trade Mitts. The guy is about a consistent forward as they have and entering his prime years and hey lets move him.

They are just starting to get some goaltending from UPL(I mean who knew what it takes time for young goalies to get consistent? Didn't Helly come into the league at 20 and tear it up?). They need to make some smaller tweeks next season.

The chance for the big splash should have been this summer when they could have rolled up a big deal for Helly. The east was ripe for regime change and I bet with him in net they would be in a playoff spot.

I don't think Jets can afford to give him up. We have 2 Dmen hitting UFA this year and 2 more next year. That includes the only 2 RHS Dmen we have. If Heinola has stalled, then Salomonsson is our top D prospect. Or maybe he is anyway.

I agree, but the Jets won't get Mittelstadt without putting a valuable asset or two on the table that are suited to the Sabres' needs.

In fairness his 22 season was pretty good offensively too. After last season it looked like Sabres had struck gold, at least offensively. I had no idea what his 2 way game was like.

Makes it all the more strange that they are apparently shopping Mitts. You'ld think that Tage would be the one to move.
The problem with Thompson is he keeps getting injured. I think they covet him because he's big - and while I agree big alone doesn't cut it, big and highly skilled for a C is a unicorn - it's hard to let that go

The reported ask was a 2nd and a prospect. With Calgary now holding out for a 1st. So, throw in a decent prospect like Rachevsky to my original offer.

I don’t think he fetches much more. But if a team offers a 1st, then it may be too rich for the Jets after moving their 1st for Monahan.
I've said it before but I do think that Stanley and Mtl's second could get it done. However, with the Flyers very likely not selling and the D market dwindling, the price of Tanev will surely go up.

There's some nhl trade rumor site that is saying the Jets are interested in Walker, Seeler, Schenn and Kulikov.

I dont know the site and question its sources, but I doubt the Flyers are dealing if they're in the playoffs and hope to god we don't want the other 2

don't ever trust those random rumor sites but idk why people keep saying philly won't be sellers because they are in a playoff spot when there gm and coach keep talking about the future and not this year

"Those guys on expiring contracts, everybody's always kind of checking around, so we'll see where it goes. We're not out there shopping Sean Walker, but we'd be dopes if we didn't listen." -torts

"We've said for the beginning that we want to build a team that will become a Stanley Cup contender for years to come. ... The eye is still on the future," -briere

torts also mentioned that some people won't like what happens at the deadline

Flyers will move atleast one of Walker/Seeler for sure. Esp after the Drysdale trade they have a logjam on D and have 8 d-men they want to play in their starting lineup and have routinely been playing 13F-7D. Even if they intend to make a playoff run they can trade a D without impacting their lineup.

It appears that Rasmus Andersson might be available from Calgary. He is 27 year old big right D with some scoring ability. I would suggest we offer Schmidt (Wpg retains 1.4 million of salary), Heinola and Montreal's second round pick for him (may need to offer next years first instead).

I don't think that's enough.
