Shapo, our forgotten man, continues his very impressive week with a 7-6, 6-love win over Coric. Only ten unforced errors from the ground.

Mind and body are working pretty well for Rune as well, who wins a first set tie breaker over RBA easily 7-1. Holger is as hot as Felix right now and may be experiencing a very similar kind of breakthrough.

What a day for Canadian tennis!! I'm just watching Felix and Carlos now and saw the score, and I watched Denis who is playing such controlled tennis. Really patient, smart tennis and he still hits spectacular winners but saves them for when he really needs them.

And with that win Felix moves past Rublev in the Race and makes the ATP finals in London. He doesn't have to worry about Paris at all.

What a great week for both Denis and Felix! Felix has been rolling for 3 weeks and Denis has done what I'd hoped for a long time, played more patient tennis.

And with that win Felix moves past Rublev in the Race and makes the ATP finals in London. Heof the race paints doesn't have to worry about Paris at all.

A later iteration of the Race paints a slightly less sunny picture, though it is still pretty good. The only way for Felix to fail to get to the ATP finals is for Fritz to win the Paris championship and for Rublev get to the semis. Both things have to happen if FAA acquires less than 160 ranking points in Paris. Felix plays Fritz in the third round and if FAA wins all else is moot.

Good comeback by Denis today to win in 3. His opponent played really well in the first half of the match and even though Denis was starting to get pissy, he held it together and broke very late in the 2nd and 3rd sets.

After Rune beat Stan, they shook hands at the net and Stan wouldn't let his hand go. According to commentators Stan told him to stop acting like a baby on the court. I think Rune is a brat but it wasn't Stan's place to tell him and to suck the air out of his victory. If he really wanted to help him he should have said it in the dressing room.

He gave up more break points opportunities in the first set than he did all last week.

His plus one game, the best in the world this past month, has sputtered today thanks to Ymer benefitting by extending points.

Nonetheless, Felix could still put it together in the third set and take a match he had no business winning.

Somehow Stan's action didn't bother me at all. The kid needs to wise up fast.
