He was moved off the top line with McGroarty and Brinley and skated with Eernisse and Schifsky. He was on the 2nd PP unit and was back to playing a regular turn on the PK.
His speed and hustle did prevent a scoring chance on a partial breakaway when the game was in doubt. He had a couple nice passes to set-up prime chances for his wingers and had a good look himself. His work on the 1st PK was really good. All happening when the game was in doubt. He certainly does not shy away from tough areas on the ice.
His sloppiness is in some cases due to trying to do too much. When beating a defender to gain the zone he'll try to beat a second defender when chip to the corner is a better move. He'll try to make a difficult pass to a winger when finding a open point man might be a better option.
