Couple clips in here from Scott on Moore's game vs ND.

The skating is obviously going to be a weapon. Wasn't sure about his hockey mind. Don't want another AA out there just wheeling around in a free skate with no idea what to do with the puck. Moore isn't that. Looks promising early.

After a great pass on a 3 on 2, this is the situation. He is behind the net.

Moore then breaks up the opposing 3 on 2 and is the first player back, on the backcheck. That is stuff you can't teach.

It's nice to see Moore slowing down a bit to make some of the plays in Powers' article. It must be so counterintuitive when you have feet like his as a weapon but I don't think he has the brain to process the game at the speed he's capable of reaching (not necessarily a knock as I can only really think of one or two guys in the current NHL who have demonstrated that ability with any consistency). Changing speeds can be just as much of a weapon as speed itself, if he can back the D off and then slow up and use that space to create consistently (while retaining the ability to blow past them if they don't respect his speed) I think that raises his offensive ceiling quite a bit. I figured it would take him some time to make that kind of adjustment so it's encouraging to see signs of it so early in his college career

Specifically, on the first clip where he burns a defender wide, it's the same D pairing as the last clip where he sets up Snuggerud for a great scoring chance then hustles back on the backcheck, and you can see how much more space he gets the second time around (partially necessitated by the odd-man situation, but the D is also clearly back on his heels more than the play would usually call for)- which he immediately recognizes and takes advantage of by threading a pass through the seam. The backcheck is equally impressive but I think we already knew he played fast and hard- the offensive IQ is great to see for a kid who is probably used to just skating around everyone for most of his life

You have to use the weapon when the chance arrives. Not running around recklessly.

Lokomotiv lost 3-2 to SKA In KHL action today...Artur Kayumov scored the 2nd Lokomotiv goal (assisted by Shalunov)...

But I've noticed that a 22 yr old winger with SKA, Vladimir Alistrov , who is 6"3 190 lbs and undrafted ,is having a break-out season...He scored 2 goals today for SKA including the GWG...He is on pace for 65 pts if he plays a full 68 game season..

Unfortunately his contract goes through 26/27 season ...so 3 more seasons after this one before he would bea free agent for NHL teams to go after...But he still would only be 25 heading towards 26 if he jumps to the NHL as a free agent to start the 27/28 NHL season...but the Hawks should be good by then and IF they have the cap room might be an attractive team for him to sign with ..It coukd be like adding a Panarin at 26 except he is completely different given his size and now grown in to big frame seens to be blossoming into to a top offensive threat..

SO FAR, IN 20 GP this season 7g 12a =19 points..
He could be at peak by age 25 goibg on 26 for the 27/28 season..He might be one if not the top free agents NHL teams will be after that summer of 2027.
So if by then Hawks are a contender they may be looking for 1 more piece to put them over the top..

Do not know if this guy is going to ve that piece..but for his first NHL cobtract then you may be getting a top value cheap for his ELC years..

Someone to keep an eye on..

Supposedly he plays a North - South game and is a hard worker in alk 3 zones..From videos it looks like he has good offensive instincts and makes plays and scores around the net...Which is what we want...not sone perimeter shooter only ....

Anyway just thought we should keep track of this guy because he could be a big free agent target after his cobtract ends at the end of the 2026/27 KHL season..

BTW..he played parts of 2 seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings ofvtgecWHL and did pretty well except he did not pkay 2 full seasons (must have been some injuries that reduced amount of games he played in those 2 seasons.

He was born in Belarus...

That's besides the point.

BHawks77 is claiming Vlasic is a surefire NHLer, meanwhile Ian Mitchell is not.

At this point in their careers, Ian Mitchell has a more substantial resume.

Vlasic playing one outstanding game doesn't change that.
At this point in there careers Vlasic easily has the more impressive resume.
82 games over 4 seasons and Mitchell has achieved a role as a 7th/8th Dman.
In 1 less season (while being 2 years younger) Vlasic has earned a role as a top 4 Dman … and playing it well.

I like you here for your comedic value. For all the work you allegedly put in your takes are the worst. Your player evaluation skills suck and it’s absolutely f***ing hilarious to read the drivel you post.

First time really sitting down and watching Rinzel play a game and the skating and puck skills are just obscenely good for a guy as big as he is. Sky is the limit for him
He made a nice play to forcefully stand up a rush just inside his zone. As the play continued in the Minnesota zone, he dumped a Wisconsin player in front of his net. He should have picked up an interference call but it was good to see his physicality in that sequence.

He had a great sequence earlier where he had the puck in transition, faked a pass causing the forechecker to swing past him, moved it up cleanly, then followed up the play, picked up the puck and made a wraparound that went right to a teammate for a good chance.

Still...Minnesota was supposed to be a top team ...but gets passed 5-2by Wisconsin...

Rinzel wss -3 and Moore got only 1 shot o goal=hardly indicative of anything special.

If that performance from them represents Minnesota's 2 best players on the night, their coach should be excoriating the rest of
his team that did not show up..

On the other hand Slagggert now for ND has got 5 goals already and is showing leadership as hecshoukd as their captain.. Hopefully he can join the Hawks near the end of this season unless ND goes to the FrozenFourxif that extends beyond Hawks regular season end date..

Moore has played LW at Minnesota so far this season. Will be interesting if Minnesota leaves him there the rest of year if the Hawks give him another year in college to see if he develops as a center.

Also Oscarson and Stjernborg faced off against each other. Stjernborg's team won. Both guys got a point (Stjernborg 1A, Oscarson 1G + 1A)
