I highly doubt he’s thinking that way.

Most likely you are right. Heck he may not even be able to gut out another match.

I know it it was me at age 45-46 facing another surgery/long recovery with the potential to come back and go for the Tri-cep tear hat-trick (and a 3rd surgery), I'd be done with this wrestling stuff.

I would think their two options to face Seth are Drew or Gunther. Gunther may be expediting their plans and only makes sense if he's winning the title. I have always thought he would hold the IC until he becomes champion then would relinquish the IC since he is now a world/universal champion. Drew would be the easy replacement to give him a big match at Mania unless they want someone fans cheer for and go with Sami Zayn. I'm assuming Jey will face Jimmy but maybe he was going to face Drew or someone else.

With both Seth and Gunther having lost their dance partners, I think you just do Title for Title and crown Gunther now.

Can figure out how to deal with the IC title later including just having him relquinsh and doing an IC tournament. It's still a mid-card belt end of the day.

Probably have Rhea and Becky main event night 1. Women haven't closed Mania in two years and those two have more then enough star power to justify that spot.

Sami isn't a bad idea either. It's easy peasy to heat him up, let him hold it to Berlin and drop it to Gunther.

Drew hasn't resigned yet, which is a good reason not to go that route.

The only way you can put that title on Drew is if he resigns. WWE won't risk it otherwise.

Sami's a good shout, the crowd will absolutely get behind him, but I'd rather they build up to that down the line if they can.

My wild card here is to have Priest cash in the briefcase and demand that Pearce force Seth to either defend the belt or vacate it and crown Priest. My thought with him was always to have him cash in on whoever walked out of the WHC match and come away with the belt, no reason not to do it now.

They have plenty of time to give Sami a solid build and what better place for him to get rewarded with a WHC title then Mania?

Seth vs Sami vs Drew with Sami going over might be the most realistic back up they can do.

Or make it Seth vs Sami vs Priest (or a 4 way) with Priest using the briefcase to get into the match. Kills a lot of birds with one stone

I'd come up with some reason for Gunther to go into the main event without the belt. I think it would be good to crown a new IC champ at the show. Maybe have Dom win it or something.

perfect time to heat up one of sami or jey and give them there first world title at wrestlemania then have them drop it to gunther or a heel drew between berlin-summerslam

They’re not gonna have Walter and Roman both drop at the same event

They might. With Brock now redacted, I feel like the only choices left are babyfaces you want to put over.

Gable is one choice and he should go over. It's pure copium, but a returning Big E would be a choice and he should go over. If Sheamus resigns and returns you could go with him and he should go over to get his grand slam moment, people were calling for that last year.

You call up Dragunov then I think he also should go over.

Then the giant long shot, most likely not happening but if it did, Okada comes in, and he should go over.

Gable wasn’t even in the rumble, they’re not doing anything there

Seems like they are setting up Jey Uso to be the next IC champ. More than one mention on TV of him winning his first singles title in 2024. He's not about to be WH Champ or WWE Champ in 2024 I don't think and the IC belt is the logical next step for Jey being presented now as an upper-mid carder and someone I think they feel is on a main event track.

Definitely could be, yeah

If that's the thinking, they don't have to. Something can happen between now and EC to where he's stripped of the IC belt. Maybe the semi-finals are at EC with the finals at WM.

Only if he’s beating Seth, but then why vacate it before and not after?

So the IC title can continue to be hyped and mean something. Before Gunther and Paul, the mid-titles haven't meant shit for some time. Now, they're headlining events, as they should. I'd want to keep that momentum. Have the finals of an IC tournament be a big part of WM. Have a Paul/KO cage match be a big part of WM.

If it’s supposed to mean something, then just beat him

That is one way, absolutely. Earlier, something about a tournament was mentioned and I thought that would be cool. As long as the IC title continues to be hyped as a big deal it doesn’t matter to me.

Though, this conversation also started with Gunther against Rollins at WM. Not sure if they’d have him lose before main eventing.

Joe dropped the ROH world television title to chase the AEW world title. Without looking, who is the current television title holder?

Dropping a belt and having a tournament is stupid, cause the guy dropping it is pretty much saying it is useless.

I disagree. I don't know who the ROH TV champ because AEW has 74 titles.

WWE only has a few, so it's all about the hype. Have a good story and have the belt headline events and it's meaningful.
