What huge hole? I'm pretty certain we won a cup with the same "huge hole". Like I said, Lombardi doesn't overpay, and acquiring Ehrhoff would require overpayment.

You're still trying to say that 2012 Scuderi is not significantly better than Regehr today, and that Mitchell circa 2012 isn't head and shoulders better than Mitchell today?

Other than Muzzin, the Kings have no one that they can pair with Doughty on a regular basis. You continue to ignore that situation.

It's easily to see that we have 2 holes that need to be filled (sexual analogies need not to be said):

1) 1/2 defenseman who can compliment Doughty
2) Top LW who can score

Hell, we had Jordan Nolan up in the top LW slots last night.

This entire board is all in on Ehrhoff! Get it done Dean!!!

I'm certainly not all in but he's better than some options. I'd rather go after Coburn to be honest.

And as far as St Louis goes, nice trade and all but to be the man you gotta beat the man. St Lois still has to deal with us, Chicago, Anaslime and SJ. Woooooooooooo!!!

That was probably a slight overpayment, but that's because there was a good chance that RR would re-sign with the kings, which he did.

Personally, I don't even want to deal with Buff, they win all their trades.

They win all of them to the tune of being last place.

He was pretty bad, especially that series when he entered the zone lost the puck trying to do too much, then took 2 penalties in the span of 1 minute all on the same shift. Pearson would've been a better option, but we all know how Sutter likes to keep his rookies on short leashes.

Does stewart play lw it would be hilarious to aquire stewart and erhoff and watch stewart dominate the blues in the wcf as we sweep them under the rug again...just sayin.

Stewart isn't going to dominate anything in the playoffs.

Exactly. That's why I take option 2 every time. 26th in offense and the LW hole is not going away. It's been that way for years. The defense is still ok even if we don't add at the trade deadline. They aren't great, but they are adequate which is less than I can say for the next Left Wing plug. The two top Left Wingers last night were playing out of their natural positions.

Yeah, I want a suitable partner for Doughty, but *******, how about a suitable LW for the Richards, Carter line? The difference between Regehr and Scuderi is much smaller for me than an actual top 6 LW and whoever wants a tryout that night. I just think they really can only get one without giving up too much and if its a pick your poison, you gotta go with the LW.

ATM, Buffalo would have 10 (possibly 11) picks in the first 2 rounds of the next 2 drafts and they still have a lot of chips to deal that should at least bring back 2nd round picks.

That LW is a black hole that has been around forever now it seems - only problem is that we are a defense first team. Watching Doughty with another D who can keep it with him in the Olympics was pretty sick, you have to admit. Yes, it was the Olympics, but perhaps in a weird way Doughty is being held back a bit by this...?

I don't know... Our LW black hole has so been so dark for so long I'd be shocked to see what it uncovers.

Stewart has not been in the playoffs with the kings just against them.I love how yet another poster is speaking their opinion in the form of an absolute.face it until stewart was ever on the kings in the playoffs, u have no business stating he won't dominate (your opinion) in the form of an absolute fact.get your ***** together.thank you.

This is my perspective -

Matt Greene - signs for four years with Edmonton. 16 million total.
Willie Mitchell - retires.

Rob Scuderi is gone and I would have never paid what Pittsburgh did. Everyone *****ed about him last year anyways. Matt Greene will sign elsewhere. Willie Mitchell is a shell of his former self.

Jake Muzzin is a project with all the tools, but he needs to grow. Slava Voynov is going through growing pains. Alec Martinez needs to be in the lineup, but apparently Sutter thinks otherwise. And Drew Doughty is the best defenseman in the league.

My ideal defense as of now would be -

Ehrhoff - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov
Martinez - Greene

Muzzin
Regehr

Ehrhoff would do wonders on the power play. The Canucks are still reeling after his departure.

Seriously. And he's a ****ing loaf. If he was Russian he'd be getting the Frolov treatment.

Just like Backes. **** with his mind once and he's done for a series. I love when the Kings play the mental game.

IDK I think Steward surrounded by this team where much is expected up him could put up good numbers. Let alone getting traded twice would motivate him. And I think a player like him with Carter/Richards is exactly what they need.

Look at his numbers after he was traded from Colorado.

I agree 100% unfortunately he is a rw.damn.matter of dact f it he is a HUGE upgrade over lewis or frattin or whoever at 3rw.imagine brown-stoll-stewart as our 3RD LINE.that would be hard to play against regardless of what any hater has to say, its all about upgrading your team to position yourself to win a stanley cup. (Add ehrhoff in the package) and we are set ride out with
Toffoli-kopi-williams
King-richy-carts
Brown-stoll-stewart
Cliff/lewis-vey/lewis-nolan/frattin

Erhoff-drew
Voynov-mitchell/regher
Muzzin/mart-regher/greene

One of frattin, clifford will be packaged, one of pearson/vey in deal, one of greene/mitchell for salary and picks.I could see, pearson+clifford+greene+amart+Weal+1st 2014 or2015 for stewart +erhoff+2nd 2014 or2015 if it 14 1ST 14 2nd comes back.fair? I think so...
