Ryan Miller and Steve Ott have been traded to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016.

While STL has upgraded, I think they've overpaid.

I think so, yet I wonder what their plan is to insulate all those youngsters? My lord, are they stacked with youth and picks, but unless they can get them some support, what's to stop buffalo from being the next edmonton?

Looks like a good trade for both teams. Miller is a huge upgrade over Halak, Stewart disappears in the playoffs, have to admit not knowing much about Carrier, and the picks don't mean much to the Blues as they are in a win now mode and hungry for their first cup.

Chicago has to be concerned about reaching the WCF now.

You have to remember what Dean did. Guys like Handzus, Thornton, etc. can be had.

Buffalo just needs some older guys that are good citizens and will compete every night to show the young guys how to be a pro.

That would be pretty sweet. I'll miss heckling Elliot though because his name was perfect for that chant. Not a chance he gets a shot in the Playoffs with Miller around.

it better not…. If he sees a trade that will make the team better he will do it…. I will be pissed if he makes a knee jerk trade because of this and end up screwing or future
